I just looked through all the convoy two photos again. Great job.... I am still there in spirit... Cursing this thing they call work where you sit at a desk, do calculations, answer emails, answer the phone and solve other people's problems all day long. What is that all about, I could be watching dolphins, exploring castles, and seeing sunsets! And also be working for us sitting at a desk, do calculations, answer emails, answer the phone and solve other people's problems all day long. What is that all about, I could be watching dolphins, exploring castles, and seeing sunsets! Yeah but come on you would miss all our little problems and soon be bored with the dolphins. Just open a tin of Tuna and think of the convoys while we give u problems its pretty similar ... .... Tom ....

Can't beat Applecross bay. The little shop just south in Camustiel has everything.
My two fave places in Scotland are Applecross and I think Brodick on Arran. If I wanted to live there probably Brodick just shading it. Everything you could want in close proximity.

Hi Alec, did you have a look around Monty Hall's croft whilst you were at Sand Bay? I watched the series when it was on, and really enjoyed it, until I found out the truth from the locals at Applecross!

I have had a few late nights in the Applecross Inn and the walk to Toscaig is beautiful. I am so jealous. I can't wait for my ankle to mend then I can get up there. What a shame you had bad weather coming over the pass the views coming down there are wonderful. Where are you now Alec? Are you heading back through Cumbria or going down the east coast?

I saw him in the pub up there one night. Another time we were there Ray Mears and another guy were there with all their crew. They were excavating a midden beside the Rock Shelter to find out what the inhabitants used to eat. Judy from the pub said they were staying there, although he did prefer sleeping under canvas. Yeah right. A tent and foraging or staying at the pub having one of their sirloin steaks and a few pints of Red Cuillin. I know what I would choose

No easy Wild Camps came to hand, so we parked up in Calmac's overflow car park at Uig........ From here we travelled the Staffin road.... and came upon the Skye Museum of Island Life....although this blacksmith wasn't very lively.... but this fella was................ The Old Man of Storr was lurking in the mist (although the rest of day was sunny)..... Stopped off in Portree for some refreshment.... ..........Alec............

Also MOT needed as it would run out while in Germany, test was booked for Monday but has to wait as replacement screen not delivered to fitter till to day (finger crossed) It should be fitted tomorrow morning and MOT in the afternoon booked. Hopefully can get away over the week end. Is your van ready to go? Any news for another canine company?? Regards Ric

Hi Ricky I forgot you was going to Germany. Goodness you are having some bad luck with the van this last couple of weeks. No I have not heard from Ulverston since I dropped the van off. Its sods law since I've been home its been fine dry weather so I could have easily done the timing belts by now. He is also looking if any damage as been done after I hit that huge pot hole on the first day. He is looking at the back brake linings to see if they need doing as well. I did change them 4 years ago but last time I looked they looked a bit thin. On the canine front we are not quite ready for another just yet but our hand might be forced. One of my grandsons rescued a puppy last year but he had to change flats. The new landlord wont let him keep the dog so he looking for a new home. He is a staffy boxer cross and he is only one. We wanted an older dog but in a few months time. At one he will outlive us and be needing a new home again. We will keep an eye on the situation and if it becomes desperate we will probably take him on rather than let him go into a kennels. Well good luck with the windscreen and MOT. Have a good holiday with daughter in Germany. Catch you at a near meet soon. .... Tom ....
