I am not too skilful on a bike and still remember the pain from falling off guess too old to free wheeling Down the mountain Great to have companion walking together, weather permitting will spend a day walking BN then I plan to hook up Alex and tom at the end of their island hopping around 23/24 Easy as to where to meet up, I take that you will have a bike, easy biking on the card also

Got a rough idea with regards to dates planning to join the 1st group evening of 20th Tuesday and starts travelling up from south 19th. Then join the 2nd group when 1st group heads south No idea with regard to agenda as I never been to the area so will jut pay by ear and follow the leader. We Leave Islay on the 20th according to Verns timetable. We hit the mainland at Ardrossan on the 24th so it is there somewhere we hope to meet the second tour. If Mark is joining us then life will be simpler but otherwise we can meet and chat on the night of the 24th somewhere. SANDIEEEEEEEEE WHERE ARE YOU. .... Tom ....

Tom, meeting at Ardrossan 24th, that's my plan Ben Nevis, just a gentle stroll OK Ardrossan up to now and Ben Nevis phew I will bring my boots and dog and make me mind up when I see it. I am still recovering from climbing Snowdon when I was 18. No good me putting my bike on as the dog will want a crossy so will have to walk with him. .... Tom ....

Did the 3 peak challenge years ago, but it was such a rush, all I remember was sleeping in the van and walking. So it would be nice to walk up slowly and enjoy the walk, mind you I will not be able to rush up now, too much for the ticker but should be able to do it slowly in good weather. Anyway, that is the intention, see how it goes on the day.

Goat Fell on Arran may be a possibility if it is fine weather: www.ayrshirescotland.com/goat-fell-hike.htmlOnly 2867 feet, not even a Munroe and it has a well worn tourist trail. Views are stunning though: And there could be nice girls on the summit as well as small dogs:

Kaiser will love it! I'll go up if it is nice (convoy 1) 6 Hour trip. My Dad would not make it... anyone is welcome to keep him company in Brodick, supping beer and watching the ferries come and go

Hello folks, I see that people have started thinking about the possible itinerary. Unfortunatley, I'm now having to drop out due to another commitment that has to take priority. I was so looking forward to this, but maybe I'll make it later in the year.
Have a great time.

Aww, what a shame so many people have had to drop out of both convoys Also, how are all these guys going to manage without some female company to keep them in order?

Hello again everyone. As it seems this convoy is effectively starting on the 24th and I now have no commitment that weekend, I can come on this trip until 7th June. I've been in touch with Tom, and I will be joining you at Androssan on the 24th. I'll send contact details later.

Had a great time last night at a picnic area just north of Ardrossan. A few drinks and then managed to get both violin and guitar out for the first time in a long time Good luck to convoy 2 with the weather but time for me to head back down south today.

Convoy 2 now fully up and running. Stayed at a 'proper' campsite on Loch Leven last night to allow those from convoy 1 to top up with water, shower etc.. I am writing this from the visitor centre in Glencoe ( fee Wi-Fi with every cafe purchase). We will be heading to Fort William later today as Ricky wants to walk up Ben Nevis. The 1.5 mile walk up Glen Nevis to a waterfall is more my cup of tea. Weather has been changeable but not too grim.
