Should be a good do! I hope people can support it. Harefest 18-20 April, Easter quite late this year, so I may be able to make it. Not sure yet though as it quite a trek for me, over 4 hours.

First I would like to say thanks for not telling me to get stuffed lol, not been about on any forum for months. Yes jess you will be made very welcome as will you all. It will be a proper wild meet ( but a pub as a few of you know is within staggering distance lol) there is at the moment @9 definates, loads of interest too.

I don't think anyone would want to tell you to get stuffed, don't worry, people come and go, life happens, its not a problem! and great that you are up for organising a meet

I hope to be able to make it, the date is in my diary and it will be good to catch up with friends from other forums again.
For those of you who know Lenny, he will be there so no doubt there will be stew and a fire on the first night. For those of you who don't know Lenny, his stew is an experience not to be missed!
Thanks Tony.

I'm a possible attendee, if that's ok - will see if I can drag madam along, although she might not want to drag herself away from the garden late March. Might dangle the concertina on the back of the camper to tempt her. Either that or a big cake.

Just a thought following on from Tony's suggestion of a collection for mountain rescue...
The local team is the cave rescue team at Clapham and if we contact them beforehand they might be able to show us round their base and their kit (subject to call outs of course).
There is also a cracking walk from Clapham to Ingleton cave, only about a mile and should be ok for wheelchair if Daisy mini is coming and the guided tour of the cave is well worth it.
The more adventurous can continue up from the cave through the impressive Trow Gill and then onto peer into the depths of Gaping Gill and up over Ingleborough back to Ribblehead. A good walk. Just don't fall into gaping gill, it's a long drop to the bottom.
There's a big car park at Clapham so parking vans is no problem.
If anyone fancies visiting the cave rescue base, I'll contact them and see if it's possible.

could you put me down on the list for the meet please, but you can forget looking down gaping gill I don't like heights and was on a fifth floor roof yesterday that was bad enough. I saw it on the telly the other day and there is no way I'm going near it.

Just don't fall into gaping gill, it's a long drop to the bottom. What about BUNGEE JUMPING off the viaduct? (Want to relive the final scene from the Sightseers movie.) (Like the LOGO used on above poster! Inspiration for FMUK logo idea?)

Thank for the suggestion regards mountain rescue jess, you could sound them out, I was just going to suggest putting in box down pub if meet members did want to do as you suggest I'm sure a trip could be organised but not by me to be honest ( enough to do lol) I have already posted this but if seone could bring stickers/cards I'm sure there will takers

Hi, I haven't been to a Ribblehead meet before. Can you give me an idea of what it is like/what's there? Is there water avalable, a pub nearby, reasonably firm ground to park up on ? Thanks ,Sandie
