Think there is some previous history Rob, but Tom can confirm. It is shocking isn't it - only that day he had been running around completely full of life and taunting Christine's dog whilst on a walk. Tom - as Rob said please do keep us posted, I don't know about dogs but humans can often make a great recovery can't they and regain use of arms legs etc etc so hopefully it is early days and he will get back to his cheeky self Yup Ann and Rob, he has had about 3 fits at different times in the past all at home. All my other dogs ate grass at certain times of the year, I think it was to make themselves sick to get hair up they had licked when washing themselves. Kaiser being an odd ball never eats grass he eats everything else instead. He eats our plants, flowers, nettles, branches, leaves, and even pebbles. We are always taking stuff off him but who knows what he eats when he is not in sight. We have been told that snails and slugs can cause fit like symptoms in dogs and he eats loads of dead leaves so even if they have left a trail on them that could cause a fit like symptom. He always had two big ones and a little one then was ok for yonks. This day he was out on the mountains with Anns dog and Christines 3 dogs and they was all having a fine run around for a few hours. I did notice he was picking up old sheep bones and having a chew but so was Anns dog and perhaps Christines were as well but did not notice. He was fine until one hour after his dinner then he started fitting and never finished until his last one about 5pm the next day. That was after an appointment at the vet at 10.30am in the morning. He as still not had another and it is now 10.45am on a Monday morning. Mind you I am suffering as I was down the pub all yesterday so perhaps its my turn to call the vet in. Kaiser seems to still be OK and has even started barking at the paperboy and postman again, and pacing round his garden perimeter like he owns the place. If he keeps improving I might start charging him council tax. I am hoping to take him round Woodbank Park in Stockport later today as there are some good walks there. Well going to Car Phone Warehouse to look at a posh phone like everyone else seem to own these days. A guy in the pub told me to look at a certain make that is quiet new on the market something like Hudie they called and he as bought one and his wife two and he says they are the best he as ever had and he carries his posh Galaxy one just for work now. Watch out my posts may have Pro Boards written at the bottom soon like you posh uns. OK thats me out of here Catch you later. .... Tom ....

yorkieowl - Yes we all got soaked on New Years day Good to see you all though! I think Hippy hotlinked from Photobucket. You can also do this from ImageShack Just find the URL of your image at the host and put it in between the [ img] [ /img] tags (omit the spaces after the [ brackets which I put in so the tags show up).

Shap in the winter is definitely not for wimps, yorkieowl Come to think of it, neither is the summer! I'm no wimp, spent most my working life working outside in all weathers, but the other half decided at the last minute he wanted to go for a walk before dark, and I hadn't come prepared, I'll make sure I have the right gear with me next time. I am from the Norf you know.

That'll be Lotusanne likely Don't blame her! When you've got leaky camper windows the Bothy gives you a wee bit of protection from the worst of the westerlies... but not much, it has to be said...!

Just to say, for any future meets, we have to keep away from outside the Bothy and also the bell mouth opposite. There is lots of parking in the large layby to the South.
Parking as above causes problems relating to their planning conditions, and also there were times when access to the water company gates opposite was completely blocked. They need this access to get to their plant 24/7. A complaint from the Water Company to the council that access was blocked, could result in planning being reviewed if conditions were broken.
Hopefully, the muddy verge between the Bothy and the layby can be improved, giving safe pedestrian access between the Bothy and the layby.

Bill was talking about putting some hardcore or similar (dunno what the stuff's called) along the verge from the Bothy to the first layby at some stage to make a non-muddy path. This will improve safety and access no end The bell mouth opposite is a no go, except perhaps where there's just one or two vans as water company must be able to get through - and always ask Bill or Jess beforehand! Parking right outside Bothy is only with Bill's permission and normally for exceptional circumstances, eg. cos the weather was really foul I needed to heat up soup for everyone, and we didn't have any means of heating it up inside the Bothy so needed to be as close as possible. Bill normally parks his camper there, so it's kind of his spot
