What model was it - any good for parts? well if it was damaged, maybe they've got contents insurance? I don't think that idea would pan out

Thanks to BanjoBilly for the use of a very unique venue and for his patience in putting up with a total bunch of nutters! Those southern softies - er, sorry, frosties! - have a bit of catching up to do. Frost and snow? Pffrt! Chicken feed! Should re-name the Bothy the Extreme Weather Testing Station for campervans; only the odd roof light blown away in the howling gales and just the slight leak here and there due to relentless horizontal rain, followed by portaloos flying past at 100 miles an hour Bill reckons it's the worst windy weather he's ever seen at the Bothy Did we care? No way! Shap Hardcore WC Club - back patch design to follow later....

Thanks to everyone - Marie, Bill, Diane and all the wild camping crew for a great night. Mine was a fleeting visit - goodness knows what you all got up to Sunday - but well worth the journey!

What a fantastic weekend, weather couldn't have been worse as everyone said, you got soaked to the skin from lashing horizontal rain and 45 mph winds just going the short distance from vans to bothy...but company couldn't have been better, we had such a laugh and some cracking music. Massive thanks to Marie who was a total trooper from start to finish, made soup for all for friday night, and each new arrival got a freshly heated up bowl, plus laid a spread of bread rolls, chhesy straws, nuts etc. She also got up at the crack of dawn to clean up on Saturday and was constantly on the go making brews or appearing with nibbles, really looked after everyone, well done marie, you did a great job. Massive thanks also to Bill for 2 nights of brilliant music, and Diana who braved the elements on Sat to join him, their two voices blend together beautifully to create something very special. Thanks also to Vern and Neil for the guitar playing and singing, and Mr Mastodon for the Bohran playing (no idea how to spell that!)thanks to Onion for doing the chippy dash whilst we all stayed snug in the bothy - and Mary for accompanying him, and last but not least thanks to everyone who came, really enjoyed meeting some new people and the atmosphere was brilliant all weekend. Oh and my leisure battery packed in just after I arrived so no lights/ water punmp etc all weekend - the suddenly started working again literallt as i was about to drive off grr!!

Still a fantastic meet here. Marie Neil and Anne were here earlier, caught up with Jess this afternoon, then we had few eats and drinks with us two, plus Onion and Mary who stayed on. Still lots of stories to tell and some music to play.
It's one of those weekends where you arrive on Fri, leave Mon and wonder how the time has gone so fast.
Many thanks again to all concerned who organised it!

Forgot to leave you the soup Vern - well, that's to say Neil put it in the van instead of leaving it where it was and we were half way home before I realised Also forgot to get Jess's bottle of Baileys out!!!!! Dumb or what?! It'll not go anywhere, so will be safe 'til we catch up again Fell asleep for 4 hours earlier and now wide awake. Neil's knocking back the zeds hehe. Thanks for the magic screwdriver, I'm dead chuffed! Haven't tried it yet but will do this next week. Hope you're warm and snug, sleep well BTW, I think the bottle of champers we found in the bothy is the one sent via Penny?

Bill reckons it's the worst windy weather he's ever seen at the Bothy From now on you will be known as The Windy Bothy's Everyone here deserves that label because it was impossible to stand outside for 12 hours, incessant 70mph winds and driving rain from Shap fell caused 1/2 a bucket of water to breach my rooflight which I also needed to tie down with wires and 2kg of water. The van was getting blown sideways. Billy's rooflight got vapourised by it.

A final massive thank you to everyone who braved the extreme weather conditions to be there last weekend, was really great to see everyone
Onion and Phantomflyer (Pete and Mary) - a laugh a minute, you bughas! bring a translator with you next time! Mary, how do you manage such a wonderful coiffure - salon perfect! - and such awful weather?! You must share your secret... !
Onion: Please! Health warning before you enter a building next time. Will prevent dangerous hernias in unsuspecting innocents! Thanks for being a hero and fetching the fish suppers {hug}
Brewkit and Elaine - hope you made your round trip to Leicester/Derby and NO posting big bum pictures or I'll puncture your scooter tyres, OK?!
MykCamper - Myke, great to see you a second time; enjoy your upcoming trip to France and Spain (and I'll take that gorgeous camper off your hands if you ever get tired of it ) Keep going with the guitar...
outtolunch, thanks so much for giving everybody orgasms for being such a chilled-out man, and for the unexpected birthday pressie! xx
MaryMC, lovely to meet you and no doubt be seeing you again next year at various festivals - I'm already onto the bum and tum tip
Molly2, Baz and Christine, so pleased you managed to make it to one of the most extreme weather meets to date and glad you enjoyed it, hope you got home safely
Mastodon and Mrs Mastodon, Paul and Sid, thanks for the loan of the Swiss knife and I absolutely love those knitted hats and socks! Your little chocolate drop Millie was nearly kidnapped by a certain female from Bradford - no names mentioned, you know who you are! - and Sid.... get those vocal chords back in practice and learn a couple of songs for next time we meet - you have been warned, no excuses!
Carol - so sorry you had to rush back for your meeting (I know you didn't want to go), hope the cushions are OK for you. I'm expecting at least one proper SONG next time !!!!!!! xx
As for that other reprobate from Yorkshire(!), one Ms Lotusanne and Mia (love you both ) - between you and Carol, there's a ton of lost clothing littered all around the moors at Shap. The Cumberland sheep now have something seductive to wear when flirting with itinerant Welshmen... Hope your leisure battery is behaving itself again xx
Firefox, Vernon, happy 50th birthday - so sorry about the soup, Splitty's plates and God knows what else I've forgotten! Thanks for making the humungous trip up north and for the magic screwdriver - best prezzie yet You're a star, keep up the good work and here's to retirement sooner rather than later - get home safe {hug} xx
Last, but definitely not least; Jess - fantastic to see you on Saturday, thanks for the great present (it's back home safe), we're all behind you, kiddo, no question! {hugs} xx

NeilyG You can change your display name to anything at any time on your profile settings :)3 attachments per post here, sorry about that it's a proboards setting but you can link from other webspace or just do multiple posts with 3 in each one. If you see Jess or go to the Bothy at any time Marie, or are near someone who is going to Ribblehead, I will be up that way at New Year, or maybe robmac will pass close to you on one of his epic journeys?! flyby I have your things from Jess if you want to meet up for a quick pint sometime (Corey's Mill?)
