It is one year ago on that weekend since a bunch of idiots and their brass monkeys decided to camp out at the stones in temperatures of -12. It's been discussed that there ought to be an anniversary meet to celebrate (?) this particular lunacy. As it has all gone a bit quiet I thought it might be an idea to bump the subject here. No-one can be interested, surely?
Attending: Rubbertramp Flyby nbrown Donkey too oldish hippy millie Basildog Robmac Mini Daiboy Moonshadow Leeandlinda
Probably: Basildog Ellisboy

Just realised I have to play in this County Bridge Final thing that weekend www.ebu.co.uk/competitions/february/tollemache.htmIt's a genuine excuse - honest! So if it's that weekend I can't make it, but Robmac lives just up the A1 from me and he said he wanted to come, so he could collect the firepit on the way down ... or you could make it the 15th-17th Feb, hint hint... it will be warmer and lighter then ;D

Aww Pete, know what you mean, getting older and losing the youthful vigour is inevitable to us all, it is what it is, but doesnt mean any of us like it. You do great though you get to loads of meets... lots of people half your age wouldnt even think of going to stonehenge in feb, or cope with it!

Can we do a poll maybe? No idea how to set it up and then see which date is most popular. As I have said on FB not sure whether I shall be able to make any of them so I won't vote!

I thought RT had already set the date. in the opening post. that is the one we are working on. I can bring my fire pit but it is not the largest about 32 inches across. let me know someone before the day. I will be leaving home early that week and coming the long way round via Exeter.

The ground there is still very churned up apparently so unless we get a dry three weeks or it freezes that weekend an alternative might need to be considered. goo.gl/maps/VBX4ZThis is a possibility. Smallgrain picnic area Blacklands near Calne. I've stopped here and there is room for about a dozen vans if we are to allow room for the locals. Any other suggestions? Anybody willing to do a recce at Stonehenge nearer the time?

If we are looking for somewhere else as a fall back maybe we should have a list of people who want to attend to give an idea how big the meet is likely to be?

That looks interesting Sue and perfect for us. Is it just a deserted Lane?
We live in Chestnut Avenue - not there though!!!
