We are wilding at Hurst point tonight. We will see what the weather brings tomorrow, see you all tomorrow afternoon. Millie we cruised marine drive but we didn't find you. How funny, we were at Hurst Point last night - woke up this morning with a foot of sea water lapping round the bottom of the camper and Swans swimming by. Never moved on so quick in all our lives We were right at the far end of Marine Drive West on Friday night. Such a shame we missed you

Just got back from a weekend wilding in the car park of the Hinckley Island Hotel
Absolutely hammering down with snow on the way back down the M1. Good job it wasn't settling much or it would have been panic stations and traffic jams all the way down. I think some people had taken the advice not travel so the traffic was heavy but a little thinner than usual for a Sunday evening.

Weather was atrocious but the company was good, enough food for the 5 thousand and Wales won the rugby. Called into the Army Aviation Museum at Middle Wallop on the way home and had a very good couple of hours reminiscing.
Had an engine management problem on the way home and ended up being relayed home. Green Flag had a problem finding the fault and then had to send 2 very large vehicles to recover me because of the low skirt and long overhang on my Motorhome. Finally got home at just after midnight and woke the whole neighbourhood whilst they unloaded me.
I'm still under warranty so well see what happens next.
Thank you Lee, Linda, Sue and Martin for your company. See you all soon.

shame you had to finish on a low note Dai. We called in to Daughters for a cuppa and then Sons for roast pork before finally getting home about 9pm just as it was starting to snow. (woke up to 2in deep today)

Hi Lee, Linda. Wasn't really a low note, as you know I wasn't desperate to get home just avoiding the weather. Vehicle is still under warranty so shouldn't cost me anything for repair, I saved about £25 on diesel and £6 on the bridge toll, read a good book on my kindle/iPad app, had a nice lunch in the Motorhome whilst watching the world go by at Liegh Delamare services and still home in time for a quick whiskey before bed. With a little time and a little poetic license, I'm sure I can add a few anecdotes about recovery companies and thier total lack of understanding of motorhomes to my collection of after dinner/campfire stories. It really didn't spoil my weekend just added a little interest and added to my experience. Glad you enjoyed your return journey and caught up with the kids.

Sorry to hear about your problems, Dai. I hope you didn't spend any longer than 2 hours at Leigh Delamare - I got a charge notice for a three hour stay last year. Which I have totally ignored of course !

Hi Vern, ended up about 8 hours at Leigh DelAmare whilst waiting for a truck that could load my van without digging a hole on the carpark. I did pay £11 for a parking ticket which I can claim back with a copy of the breakdown companies ticket. Company policy it seems, pay now claim back later. It may be worth it, I hear they keep your reg on their database and used to clamp you if you parked on another of their carparks in the future. Lucky they can't do that now.
