Got totally soaked yesterday at Charlie's wedding.
Somebody forgot the ribbons for the ceremony so we had to wait another 30 mins in the rain, but we got there in the end!

Couldnt get on this site yesterday and still cant on my work laptop that i usually use, DNS error, think it be to do with proxy server, work computer sends all traffic to a website for monitoring etc and it goes out on a dfferent port. Thats going to be annoying if cant find a way around it

Hi OH thans for that. The problem is that the work laptop goes out via a proxy server that also does varus scans etc, i tested it at work today and for whatever reason we cannot access this site. Anyway, have now got the netwrok guts to give me 2 little shortcuts to switch off the proxy thing and go out directly when at home and that works fine thank goodness, it was a real nuisance!

aha, next time I will malke sure you have all the facts, oh devious one! But may not be that simple, is switched on by log-on script, and the scripts I can run now make changes to the registry which I dont like meddling with! We also dont have admin rights to our own machines... but I do happen to know the admin password...anyway, appreciate the offer , and you trying to help, will let you knwo if need help next time

If you can convert the URL to numbers that can sometimes get around filters. I'm not saying it will work, but worth a go.

Do you mean to the IP address vern? If so thats whats getting blocked

Post by Firefox on Jan 10, 2013 11:12:13 GMT
No I meant the actual numbers for the website URL like for example 28.96.107.255. This has been used to get round some filters in the past. But I tried to resolve for here and link to it and I got a generic proboards DNS error so it won't work.

, oh I thought that was the IP address? Thanks for trying anyway. my little script to change the registry is working ok and can get on again. Odd that it suddenly changed...

I'm very tempted to head off into the Brecon Beacons. I'd planned to go today until we had another 3" snow last night trapping me in the driveway and it's still snowing now!
