Oh god Lotusanne, nowt worse than back problems for incapacitating you! Oldish hippy suffers permanently from a really bad back and nothing they can do except morphine patches for the pain. Is anyone else sick of the permanent wintry weather? Think we're all suffering from SAD syndrome I'm so grumpy I lost my temper with someone today and shouted at them. Eek! They deserved it. Don't think they'll cross me again though rofl Not like me to be ruffled but I was still in "white van woman" mode after picking up some ash logs - we'll be toasty next Christmas Here's a few for the fire. Anyone for a hot toddy? no for hot toddy yes for a hot coffee a proper job quick whilst marie making me a coffee chuck a few of those ash logs on the fire she wont notice honestly

Hi. Thanks for the logs and the toddy!
I don't usually mind the winter but this year March has been very cold and miserable. Every night seems to be freezing or near freezing temps and I'll be looking forward to a bit of warmth!

The van - he has got the injector (£170 + VAT) ... with fitting it's going to be about £270 or so.
He is supposed to be fitting it tonight... famous last words.

OK so he arrives with a new injector, does a leak off test and they all produce the same small amount, showing that the injectors are matched and performing fine.
Now he thinks that it is the high pressure pump regulator valve - and that's under warranty as he replaced the high pressure pump last year.

Oh BH , thats bad news in that you have been messed about and still without van... but good news if part is under warranty! Wonder why he didn't do that leak off test before? So have you got to wait for a valve now?? and if so any eta?

He can get one tomorrow, he says. He didn't do the test as he has to take off the air filter etc to gain access and he only brought his laptop round on Sunday.

Yes, he should be back on it today. If he hasn't fixed it by today, I may need to take tomorrow off and hire a vehicle.

Pity you can't get to Bradford - there's a lovely old van doing nothing!

I could get the coach to Bradford, LOL. But probably would hire an ordinary small plain van if I can get one.

I just do not get how people can go on Embarassing Bodies with the most embarassing problems that they can't even tell there partners about- then reveal all to the whole world!! I would rather be coated in honey and fed to ants!!

Cheque book journalism strikes again! They have a budget for the show... at 5 or 10K a throw, they'll probably find enough jokers to cough up, and it no doubt works at giving them overall cheap content, despite the bungs for which the recipients all have to sign confidentiality clauses.

People must be desperate to get treatment, why on earth don't they just go to their own doctor in private?! The wrost one i saw was a guy with a pooey bum!! Oh the shame!!

I honestly think these kind of shows are largely manufactured. I've seen a few on You Tube. I reckon they get people who are up for it, and then exaggerate wildly to make it into a watchable show, including adding fake deadlines to increase the excitement. The people don't care. They get paid off handsomely. It's amateur acting by the back door!

Well, it looks like it's getting to that time of year again. Get your winter woollies out and get that fire stoked up Looking forward to the winter, funnily enough, as I've hardly been anywhere this year. Once all me plants are tucked up for the winter I'll be free as a bird Really looking forward to the music meets at Shap in December. As long as the slippery white stuff doesn't decide to visit early, that is.... Have we stacked up on hot toddy gear yet? Life: unfinished threads in a never-ending tapestry

I have a bottle of Cassis from Carol (Thanks Carol!) That could be used to make hot blackcurrant toddies with maybe some spices to taste. I'm pleased to see there are some new logs on the fire, it was getting cold in here!

Thinking of taking a (small!) amount of our precious stack of ash logs to BanjoBilly's music meets in December. An industrial estate near us always has a supply of old pallets to hand, free naturally!, so we may bring some of those along too - dismantled, hopefully. Now there's a good job for Neil to do! I've got wood! Well, firewood that is.
I'll sort some out for the meet. I've got to drop some off at Jess's anyway before the Winter sets in.

I have a scorpion saw which runs off the genny. Good for pallets - whether that will work if I am 100 yards away in a layby and it is driving horizontal rain, who knows!! But I am also quite good with an axe if there is one around Anne, bring loads of wood, you must have piles of it in your basement room
