That's nice and warm - just what I need today. Having a lazy one after last nights Eastleigh by-election count. Off to Oxford tomorrow morning

Very strange result in Eastleigh with UKIP doing so well. I'm an Ex Lib Dem turned more Green party now, so wasn't so disappointed with the result. But generally I think the whole political system needs a good shake up! See you in Oxford, hopefully I will get there tonight

Politics round the camp fire? Are you trying to start a fight?
I don't think it needs a shake up. I think it needs to be redesigned from the ground up, along with the current version of capitalism. (Warning - the economy is my specialist subject)

System won't be redesigned in practical terms as the only two parties that can win, rather like the idea they can get a majority on 35% of the vote.

Quite right. We need to be more conservative with our log supply.

I have no interest in politics what so ever - in fact I think the Peace Party should have won. If i'd posted these pix yesterday I'd have lost my job! I only do the count for the money Attachments:

MMMmmmm, like the sound of the last one... Dessert pizza: Ernst says fruit is one of her favorite, and often-ignored, healthy pizza toppings. Shave about 1 tablespoon of dark chocolate (at least 70 percent cocoa so it’s packed with potent antioxidants called flavonoids, which keep cholesterol from gathering in blood vessels) over a crust, spread with nonfat cream cheese, then top with walnuts and fresh berries. Bake at 325°F for 10 minutes. If you’re so inclined, pair with a glass of red wine, which has antioxidants that may prevent heart disease (remember: moderation!). Buon appetito! Are you sure these are healthy option Firefox?! Even paired with a glass of wine? Which reminds me, I am being weaned off my high dose Codeine tablets and by weekend should be able to have a nice glass or two - YAY!! I will be a cheap date - not had a drink for 3 weeks!! But have been in happy land on various medications so cant grumble really!

Cheap date sounds good to me But £35 for a 3 day gig including camping is good anyway... more to spend on other things

ONG thats terrible, poor poor guy. . I hope its a type they can do somethig with ? Will look it up. If you are in contact please send my bestest wishes and hoping for better news for him. Bloody cancer its all around, getting to the age where friends and peers succumbing , no one likes being reminded of our mortality do we, ususal conclusion i come ot is to try to rememeber to enjoy life, this is our only time on the planet so bloody well make the most of it!! having said that I am rcovering from back i jury and have had to cancel everything for weels, includingh Crufts and visist to daughter in Londin this weekend that I booked ticket for weeks and weeks ago gerrr!! Don't know if you have read it on any of the threads (hmm, think may have been doing a bit of moaning!!) so won't go into deail here, but slipped lifting bably grandaughter out of bath and ended up damaging muscle at base of spine iside pelvis that links to buttock amd i really was in comlete agony. Spent 6 days on vallium and codeine and anti inflams, but dropped the vallium after that- they only give you 3 days at a time and can see whyit is LOVELY!! Me and Carol were wondering how on earth people used to cope when it was prescribed so freely - usually to women - as you are just in a complete world of your own - days/ weeks/months/years could go by! Anyway, work wouldnt let me back and are paying for physio therapy which is bloody good of them (though still don't know if will be paying wages, and have been off fr nearly 3 weeks now - eek!!) and it is working miracles, reducing codeine now to hardly any but have had 3weeks of dopiness!! How are things with you?

It has a pretty poor prognosis generally, unfortunately. But in his case I'm sure our joint positive thoughts can make all the difference, and I'm wishing hard for a successful treatment.

Hi all. I'm knocked sideways by the news about John. We've only met him the once - Navigation Inn last year - but he's one of those lovely people that leave a big, warm impression, isn't he? Such a bliddy unfair hand to be dealt.

Lotusanne, you poor thing! I have every sympathy for you with your back and hope the problems vanish without trace eventually... everything crossed for you. Mine's been giving me trouble for over two and half years now and it's really hard not to turn into a total whinger when you think about how drastically your body and lifestyle is changed by a simple 'mechanical' problem that no-one seems to be able to fix! Then you hear news like today's and spend a while just counting your blessings! I do envy you your Valium though...

Oh god Lotusanne, nowt worse than back problems for incapacitating you! Oldish hippy suffers permanently from a really bad back and nothing they can do except morphine patches for the pain. Is anyone else sick of the permanent wintry weather? Think we're all suffering from SAD syndrome I'm so grumpy I lost my temper with someone today and shouted at them. Eek! They deserved it. Don't think they'll cross me again though rofl Not like me to be ruffled but I was still in "white van woman" mode after picking up some ash logs - we'll be toasty next Christmas Here's a few for the fire. Anyone for a hot toddy?
