Im so frustrated and in desperate need to get away in my van...But all the meets seem to be so far down south that us, on small budgets can't afford. I live in boring Lincs that the only good places now have barriers..PLEASE can someone suggest a nice place to get away within a reasonable distance of a gas guzzling old ambulance on the Lincs East coast or inland, anywhere..now getting desperate...!! LEEDS BRADFORD SHEFFIELD ETC..anywhere!

Ha Ha not so much oxford but Greywell HAMPSHIRE etc they are all within easy distance of you from Oxford but for me from Lincs? ..Derby is about right south of Birmingahm is a bit of a push any further south is a huge drain on the diesel funds...I would love to come to them all...Maybe i need to find myself a rich companion who can drive...split the cost...lol

Here is where I can go for a weekend about 110 miles - loads of places. Lincs coast would be fine. There must be places without barriers or we can arrange something at The Bank Pub before seaside fest. Maybe someone will have cut the barrier down at Moggs's Eye!

I can reach South Peaks for a weekend, Derby, Ashbourne, Leek. Motorroamers are Midland based too, so may be able to tag on to one of theirs or do a joint meet. Mikehanky has organised a New Motorroamers group here motorroamers.boards.net/

I'm itching to get out in the van too. How about: theminersstandard.com/£5 per person per night is pretty good for around here. Winster is walkable. Or, there's the Duke William www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g209970-d1539445-r166866292-The_Duke_William-Matlock_Derbyshire_England.html. This is £6 pppn. More local options for entertainment & daytime activity with Matlock and Matlock Bath walkable, but not such a picturesque site. There are quite a lot of nice pub-based sites around here, but many charge per unit (and, being a tourist area, are not especially cheap either) which is pricey for solos. As I live 6 miles from either of these I am happy to co-ordinate/book if people are interested. I don't want to organise anything too formal but I'll check availablility and book pitches. I guess this needs to be soon or it'll defeat the object of scratching the itch. How about the weekend of 8th / 9th March?

if going to the Miners Standard it would be best to avoid the 26th April if you plan on getting any sleep

Yes, I'm definitely up for it. Easy access to the pub is best for Sue. Me, I'm not bothered!

I went to Miner's Standard a couple of years ago. Pub and food was good, but field was very sloping.
