It might be dark and cold, gaz, but when we all land up at Shap this weekend it'll be right jumpin' hot Good job there's only sheep for neighbours! Here in Cragheed right now the wind outside is starting to kick off big time... (I said outside ...! ) Life: unfinished threads in a never-ending tapestry

I just nipped out down the A1 to fetch Crimbo tree, about 10 mile round trip, wind getting savage now and my work van was hit by all sorts of debris continually, it's a flat bed and was still getting blown about so god knows how a motorhome would get on!
I would advise anybody heading to Shap or Caerphilly today to wait until it subsides a bit.

Absolute deluge here at the moment - very wild weather. I think travel to Shap should be better once it has all died down which will hopefully be by tomorrow.
Re Mobile Phones - hopefully us lot will be able to charge from our vans. It's those brick and mortar people I worry about!

specially if youve parked yer bricks n mortar under a big old tree spare batteries for torches n check rechargeable ones could be a good idea this winter ya now what happens the leccy goes off...you find the torch is flat or ya simply cant find it full stop i would nt mind abandoning a dark cold house n go stay in the camper till the power comes back on least we all have that option push comes to shove viva la campers

Life: unfinished threads in a never-ending tapestry There are a few liveaboards on our pontoon and they keep an eye on it for us; no trees near the mooring, so should be OK.
