One thing that worked well last year was a convoy to Scotland in which we went to Applecross and then Ullapool, Durness, and finally Thurso over a period of two weeks.
This year we were thinking of having more than one group, and maybe meeting halfway and swapping between groups if needed. Realistically the most you can have in a group is about 5, probably 4 if they are big vans.
No firm plans of time or routes but it would probably be late May. One nice route would be Loch Torridon, Applecross, then Skye, then island hopping down the west coast, Mull, Jura, Islay ending on Arran from which you can catch the ferry to Ayr and be ready for an exit down the M74.
Post below if interested. Please indicate what time you like to go to bed and get up in the morning, as this tends to be a major source of conflict. There are those who want to get up at 7am and be away by 9am, and others who won't surface till 10 or 11! If you're a lark among night owls you may get a bit cheesed off after a few days, so we'll try to match people where possible in a group of like minds. If you are flexible on hours then say so.
Likewise, say if you like to do any particular activity eg Hill walking or fishing, and we could try to fit that in as well. Or if you want to go any particular route or time. We won't be able to accommodate everyone's choices though!

I'm vaguely interested in a potential meet-up en-route....
I missed my Scotland jaunt last year but am hoping to resume this year with a trip in May (haven't got dates yet) but I'll have only 10 days to cover the east, north and western coasts plus some favoured spots in the Highlands, approx 2,400 miles, so my trips have to be high-speed with early bedtimes (11pm) then back on the road again by 7am to cram as much as possible into each day.
I'm not sure whether this would fit into the proposed convoy tour but plans can be made nearer the time if it works out.

Yup been ready for this since missing it last year. Bedtime is no problem as I hit the hey when ready. Mornings are a different kettle of fish as we do like to doze until lateish. I would like to book in with the late risers if possible. I like all the activities if I can still keep up with everyone. A few problems before then is getting the banger through its MOT test. Then its getting me through an MOT test as I have to pass a pretty stiff medical to keep my 8.5 ton licence in April as I am over 70. I hope to get me and the van through both and am raring to go. .... .... Tom ....

Definitely in. Usually late to bed and late to rise but can conform when necessary. I enjoy doing most things within my means except swimming and mountain climbing, or kayaking or hang gliding. I would like to learn to fish......

Btw I would prefer the earlier in May the better, mid May being ideal I don't mind May, less chance of the midges being about! (just in case they're out early). As long as I am back by 31st, otherwise I'm in trouble!

It might drive you to alcohol and nicotine! I'm on a health kick Carol! Haven't had a drink since last Saturday, although will probably get shrew-faced tonight, only smoking about 10 a day, and have switched to a low fat, low sugar diet. I'll be like a racing Snake.

Well get it over and done with before we go to Scotland! Will I recognise you? New haircut, svelte (er!) figure, no fag in hand? I've got a cunning plan Carol. Eat all of this bird food for a few weeks, get the old cholesterol and sugar levels down, get rechecked by Doc and given clean bill of health, then bulk out on pies and beer. It's a win-win situation.
