Just had a cuppa with Gina and Ron. We have both moved to Norton car park, lots of space and fairly level. Weather at the moment is wet and the wind is getting stronger.

I don't think I can travel tonight. Getting blown off the wheels by 60-70 mph gusts and that's just Tescos car park! I might risk it in a car, but in a van, madness. May see you tomorrow

May see you tomorrow 60 to 70 mph winds ? That's nothing compared to up here ! I did wonder why the 303 was so quiet it was a bit hairy but nothing to worry about . I prefer a good snow storm not the girly stuff we get here in UK though . Sent from my Nexus 4 using proboards

Calmed down a bit now, so if any of you northern softies are coming you should be OK. I think the strongest gusts were around midnight but it didn’t stop us getting to sleep. I got up at daybreak and went for a jog down to the village, I had to clear a few trees off the road on my way and right a couple of cars; then I woke up and had a brew and a bacon & mushroom sarnie.

Edina could you take a look out your windows and see if I am still in the UK ! Gina and I were sent out by the men to see if you where both ok last night but your van was a rocking ! A word to the wiser don't go out in high winds unless you know where the pub is ! Advantage is I know where the other pubs are I have to say some where lucky to have grandparenting duties ! AND thanks Charlie for my first truly WILD meet

(You needn't have mentioned that bit about our van rocking - it doesn't happen very often and we thought you were all down the pub!!)

Thanks for the call tonight, Rubbertramp. I confirm I won't be making it and apologies to everyone. I slept in this morning and the wind was buffeting the van all morning so no inclination to get up. By the time the wind had died down after midday I couldn't face the nearly 400 mile round trip for just one night away. A shame, because I was all ready to go last night at 9pm and had bought raffle tickets, prizes and everything. I would have posted earlier, but my 3G internet is down, I think the local mast has suffered wind damage
It also means I won't be able to give out the forum cards and stickers, but to make up for that, if anyone wants them now, just PM me your snail mail and I will put some in the post free of charge for you. By the way, the current window sticker is just the card blown up 150% and the paper laminated in clear plastic. So it doesn't actually stick on the glass like those proper vinyl ones do. But I'm sure you will find a resourceful way to prop it up or stick it up in your window until the real ones come out!

Morning all,
What a contrast; the wind has dropped, no rain, a really peaceful night. Cos I can’t walk far yet, the landlord let me park in the pub car park and this meant we could join t’others for a pint. It’s a smashing “proper” pub and we’re having breakfast there with a few of the gang.(we'll be there Penny) It's a shame Vernon is not able to join us, but it’s been great meeting people who have just been names on a forum and what a friendly bunch they are.

Just to add my thoughts, had a wonderful time, met some very nice people - those who said Charlie was grumpy must have been talking about another Charlie. The pub was wonderful, food was good the Ham Hill was a loverly spot. We enjoyed the cake and tea sat round the vans this morning. The cake was very nice. The weather coming back was good, stopped a few times for food. Linda my new plaything has arrived they left it in the porch!!! we must live in a good area it was still there!!! Well folks until we meet again, enjoy travelling and have a good weekend next weekend. Lots of love from Gina and Ron and again thank you all for a wonderful time.

Sounds like you all had a great time. Such a shame to miss it robmac we must hook up sometime and I'll pass some cards on to you. Also have some stuff for @wvw I didn't pass over if you are thinking of going up the M6 sometime soon. I don't mind dropping it off with you in St Neots Or anyone else going to Ribblehead who lives near me may also be an option. I may also go to Ribblehead too - just not sure yet
