Awww Carol! that's a shame. Come on Tom, we need you! I am still working on it Rob if everything goes right I should be there with Kaiser. I am waiting for a delivery of a Surrflo pump to be delivered so I got some water. I have other issues as well with some clashes with my Pub and dates. The water I could manage with a canister but I like my wild camping to be more on the softer side. I may have to phone Vern to confirm if I have not said for sure by tomorrow. Hey Champagne blimey I don't think I've ever tried any before, so that should spur me on no end. Come on Carol I don't want to drink your portion, I would rather share it with you. Goodness if I can't make it that will be two portions going spare .. Ah well fingers crossed hope to do my best to get there. .... Tom ....

It's not too bad actually I went up there a couple of years ago. Also there is wild camping in a car park and a big lay-by along the road at the foot of the roaches though people may want to stay in the pub car park all weekend.

Got a slight problem. The clutch is back to how it was. I can hardly get a gear.
The slave cylinder in the gear box may need doing as well. It's a big job requiring the suspension, drive and wheels to come off as well as the gearbox dropping.
I am going to try to get it up to Leek and back though but may have to wait till the traffic dies on the M1. I can't handle stop/start traffic with a failing clutch but may make it with a clear run.

Bugger! If that is the case Vernon, if they are going to do the slave in the gearbox you may as well have a new clutch and dual-mass whilst they are in there! I know it's extra expense, but will save in the long run, especially if the dual-mass hasn't been done before?

[/sub]A slight problem! Oh bloody hell, Vernon! I would hate it if you couldn't make it but do you really want o come all this way without a clutch? No chance of it being done while you are at work? What a nuisance. What kind of cover do you have? Eg if you break down on the motorway can you get recovered to leek? Then get iy fixed over the weekend with the boys. Or does it need specialist equipment? Keep us informed......

If you risk it, carry some hydraulic fluid with you Vernon and keep the resevoir topped up in case the slave cylinder is leaking inside the gearbox.

I may see if I can get the system bled. It gave me a week's use when they did that when they fitted the master cylinder. But it's not a boys in the car park job, doing the slave cylinder, it's a ramp job and 5 hours labour I don't think the slave is leaking. The fluid level is right up and there's no damp, but it is letting air in the system at the clutch end I believe. Technician had a quick look this morning and thought the same thing.

Why they decided to put the slave cylinder inside the gearbox is beyond me. There must be a reason I suppose? I had similar earlier this year, replaced Master cylinder but turned out to be the slave so I said while you are in there do the lot. I drove a few hundred miles on it keeping the res topped up, but it sounds a slightly different problem. Good luck!
