We are at Crufts at the moment. I spent last night with Basildog and Karen at the Toby Carvery car park, Stonebridge Island. We couldn't get in the NEC car park, it was too late and locked. Arrived at the NEC 7.00am this morning to meet Mini + Martin, RubberTramp, Oldish Hippy, Robmac, WinDancer in the car park. Wvw got here 6.00am after a traumatic overnight journey with some engine warning light problems. We are watching the competition now in Hall 3A. WindDancer and Corrie doing well in one of the top spots. Will probably work our way over to Shustoke and the Plough tonight and be at the Reservoir from 6 or 7pm onwards for Daz or anyone else who wants to go there. (07941) 172043 if you want to text me on progress

Yes, saw that big camper last night. We didn't ask to camp at Stonebridge, just went for it! Cos I asked up front last Autumn and the bloke was a bit evasive, saying they didn't really offer it anymore but reading between the lines he seemed to indicate it still went on. I think they have got their fingers burned offering camping and then people stay several nights and don't even go in the pub. But we bought a couple of rounds for a six hour stopover which I thought was a fair exchange.
17.00 at the moment and waiting to get out the car park for free if possible, so don't know exactly what time we'll get over, but should be within next 2 or 3 hours.

What a great weekend, despite having an injured foot. We were all fascinated by the show, Christine and Corrie came in fourth out of the 20 finalists, having already got through all the regional heats. She would have been third but for a rather harsh points deduction but I suppose that happens every now and again. We were all bristling with pride as Chris and Corrie were awarded their rosette.
thanks to all of the usual fantastic folk who attended and in particular Jenny for looking after me with my injury and Mark for the brilliant stew.

Another great weekend. Just four of us left tonight, and I left just before midnight leaving Rubbertramp, wvw, and Oldish Hippy to brave the icy winds.
I was knackered last night after a couple of nights without much sleep, so I slept in till 10.30. Sorry I missed Rob and Basildog going early. But was up in time to contribute to breakfast in WindDancer's van. After that we all went for a lunchtime walk round the reservoir. We said goodbye to WindDancer and Mini, then RT, Hippy and I had a late afternoon lunch in the local pub. We hooked up with wvw later for brew and a long chat round her storm kettle while boiling some free hot water to do the washing up. We all then had a quick glass of red in RT's van before I decided to get off. Weather was freezing with sleet and a north wind.
Thanks to WindDancer for an introduction to Crufts and well done her and Corrie for 4th place nationally in a competition where all the dogs had a very high standard. Thanks also to all who came!

Sounds like you've all enjoyed your visit, wish I could have been there. With all this nasty weather you should be called the Doggie Diehards!

Bloody hell it's arctic! That Oldish Hippy brought the southern frosties weather with him!
All on me tod this morning, gutted I missed the red wine last night, I thought everyone had good to bed early, I forgot that Firefox had to go.
Staying put all day, got some work to do today and then heading north this evening to get my new roof light put in tomorrow (thanks to winddancer for the secondhand bargain).
It was great to finally meet Oldish Hippy and Mr and Mrs Mini and winddancer and Robmac and to catch up with Firefox and RT again
Rigg has several new toys and treats for his 10th again birthday on Friday from crufts, Miss Tibby has a new travel water bowl and collar identity tag in case she strays from the BWV and I have a new pink pawprint bag and matching cap ;D
Hoping to see Daz later to hand over spray bottle.

What a fab weekend! I've just said on the shoutbox, I'm so glad we decided to leave yesterday because West Sussex is totally blanketed this morning and the roads round here ground to a halt earlier apparently. Hope those who stayed on another night all get home safely. So chuffed to have met you at last FWF and good to have that chance for a quick hello to Daz and family - hope it won't be long before you get the van of your dreams and come out to play at meets The whole Crufts experience was great fun and didn't WindDancer and Corrie do well! Huge thanks to Rubbertramp for the best beef stew I've ever tasted... hope I didn't make too much of a pig of myself! I overdid the wine a bit on Saturday night too... my tongue turned all dyslexic on me Rob, how's the foot? It was horrible to see you suffering and hope you recover nice and fast. Well, that's two smashing weekends in a row... I could get to like this camping lark

It was a great stew wasn't it! The foot is fine now Jenny, however, I did inadvertantly steal your painkillers! I will return them at the next meet. Many thanks to you otherwise my weekend would have been ruined.

Thanks everyone for making it a great canine weekend. Very well done Corrie and Chris. You woz robbed in my opinion! Glad your injury didn't turn out to be one hopalong! Nice to meet you and your family Daz, if only briefly. The Plough at Shustoke is a great pub and well worth a visit if you're passing. The stew recipe has to remain a secret I'm afraid .....except to say that it's amazing what you can achieve with a drop of chloroform and a hanky when one finds oneself surrounded by so many quality animals on a Saturday afternoon

What a fantastic weekend! It was just amazing to see so many of you there, and all the effort that went in to getting there..... long distances travelled, expensive tickets bought, early morning rises .......... and running about helping me with various things so I could stay focused and try and get calm! lol! It was great with you all being there and rooting for us. When I was in the ring competing, I could feel all your good vibes as I passed by where you were sat. It was very uplifting I can't tell you how proud I am of my fabulous Corrie, who rose to the occasion and her performance was outstanding
