oo i was dead interested in that Millie, i googled it and the recomended price new is £350 so a real bargain, BUT turns out its a caravan awning so not free standing, i would want one with 4 sides that you coul drive away from But not prepared to pay much cos dont honestly know how much i would use one, and there's other things i need more - but always a sucker for a barain! its really nice of you tp offer to pick it up though and made me think i would be happy to do the same, maybe we should start a thread of things people wanted and people who wouldnt mind helping deliver. then if you wanted something and saw one at the other end of the country you wouldn't have to rule it out necessarily. there was a nice chain a few months back where nbrown gave a heater towvw which went via OH anf Firefox and possibly someone else.

Thats really good of you millie to offer to pick it up, And Anne thats a good idea, I often find things on ebay id like but are to far when its a collection only. If anything is in my area id be more than happy to pick it up for people and bring it to a meet.

I got the idea to pass things on through our network from the thread about the fire which was passed from OH in the South via nbrown, Robmac, Firefox and others onto WVW up north. Your idea of setting something up via this forum is a great one Anne and as Daisy says I'm sure there are plenty of people who would help. The Local Ebay Deals Mapper is a great tool for finding collection only items from your area.

We can always pass things around as we all seem to travel quite a bit.
Just a thought Anne, those three sided ones can often be adapted with the addition of a piece of canvass on the 4th side. Something as simple as a piece of canvass rolled round an old aluminum tent pole in sections and some velcro to secure in the up and down positions would probably work.

Good idea Firefox, you are right I guess it would be easy enough to velcro s a piece right alomg the sides to keep it snug, why I am I so unpractical with these things, that wud never have occurred to me! Maybe your engineerng mind? Anyway wnet back to check on ebay and the awning has been with drawn, When i first got van I really wanted an awning cos its quite small but since then I dont know if i would actually go to the bother of putting it up, the space seems OK.. maybe when grand kids are older... its one of those debates you can go on and on with and never decide. But to return to the idea of collecting thimgs for others, i think that could be dead useful as we already have a netwrok that meet up from timeto time. Maybe a separate thread? Or just post if you see something you want thats miles away to see if anyone is near bye and would pick it up for you?

Awning would def be useful with kids espec for a rainy day so they could play with toys and run around a bit, it could be cramped in the van.
