We saw a place on one man and his campervan called goredale scar in Yorkshire looked the most amazing spot.Had a waterfall and everything when he drove on he was told to just find a spot and park up.not sure if any good but looked stunning. Hi Doodles, have stayed ther a couple of times in tents and yes it is a fabulous spot. Its quite small site with a stream meandering right through leading to the waterfall. You can climb up the side of the water fall - there's one scarey bit but I have done it so not too bad! Then you can do a fantastic walk around the limestone area , including Malham Tarn and limestone pavment which is amazing. Theres a really nice pub about a mile up and down the road. The site does get quite busy though and you can't prebook, and there is also a public right of way right across the site leading to the waterfall. Gorgeous scenery all around and on very quite road. Virtually no facilites - just one unisex shower room with one toilet if I remember right and the owner was a bit of a hoarder and every spare bit of wall space was filled with used disposible BBQs!! (though suppose its could be under new ownership - did it mention anything about that on this program?) But I would happily go again, I loved it, and would recommend for a couple or a few friends but dont think it would be suitable for a music meet - it would very intrusive on the other campers who would be in tents only a few feet away!

OK. What about this place? greendragonhardraw.com/index.htmlwww.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=5066Within walking distance of Hawes. Price is £8 per person per night which might be a bit steep. No EHU. They can accommodate 20 vans no problem on the site. Free hot showers and loos, if you don't count the £8 you've paid. I talked to the owner today and he says any weekend is fine apart from 27-29th July when they have their own music gathering. No problem with playing music in the pub as they seem to do a lot of it. There might be some wildcamping spots in the vicinity for Firefox etc. .... ? Has anybody been to this pub before who might know a bit more about it? The pub has 15 acres of grounds and its own 100foot waterfall, Hardraw Force.

I wouldn't say no to £8 a night but if they could make it per van it would be better. Maybe as a block booking?

The only thing I was a bit puzzled by was on the UK Campsites link it says no campervnas. It talks about 2 fields and a carpark for the campers, plus an overspill carpark in the pub carpark. So do you think she meant the overspill bit? for the vans?we had better check she definitly meant she coyld take 20 vans not 20 tents as we could be in pickle then!

No, it definitely takes camper vans cos I asked. Seems they have one field for campervans and another for tents.

Thats sounds brilliant then Marie I say Go for it Girl - have you got any dates in mind? We could maybe get a poll up? (sure we can find out how!!) I suppose if its a field there may be no hard standing so maybe if you talk to them again suss out if they have anything to pull us out with if needs be!. Oo am all excited bnow, Summit to look forward to! Hawes is a nice little town and gorgous all around there. There is also a very nice lake you can camp on shores of a couple of miles away, for about a fiver a night, its just a farmer than ownss the land, no facilities really lovely though. Oh we need to see if peeps are OK about the price -its no difference for me but like Vern said it would be better per van it can see,a lot for a couple £16 pn - and only taing up the same space a a single van person. Keep us posted Some may be away this weekend at the meet - weather depending
