Is it just me? As a newcomer I don't want to step on anyone's toes or appear to be no PC however the site has a very pink appearance and initial impression is have I stumbled into a gay motorhomers website  The header is more than a little annoying being spread out so that whatever option one chooses you have to scroll down the page to find it.  Whilst it looks very pretty it does slow everything down. It would be better having once selected the forum for the forum only to take up the whole page. Links to other sites should be on another page rather than be listed on very page, you are just inviting people to go away from this forum. The above I hope will be considered as constructive criticism and if not then I apologise for trying to improve things. |

The GayDubs can be changed easily enough but are tough wee burgers and always seem to make a comeback. I'd prefer the wottevaboards standard thingys to be the default setting myself, but hey ho. |

There should be an item in the news fader above the board telling you how to change the skin back to the proboards theme. The board should hopefully load quick in either mode as the images are very small in size and once they are cached it should load in an instant.
We are looking into other skins. For example a grey/silver scheme, a green scheme, and an orange sunset scheme so you can have exactly what you prefer. It is also possible to get rid of the top image in various schemes with some code to change the headers.
I have noticed there is a move among forums to ban (relevant) links or hide them away or alter them because the webmaster or admin wants to retain people on his forum.
(Note that some posts in this thread have been removed to the recycle bin to remove the negativity)

What a great idea!! ;D At least two of my friends have motorhomes, most seem to go for boats, though. Oddly, I don't know any who say they like camping...isn't that weird??  |

Straight, gay, Trans, hermaphrodite, neuter, I don't care personally. I thought most of us were into motorhomes. Does sexuality have a bearing on motorhome ownership ;D Another thing to bear in mind here is we have a high proportion of active female members compared to some other motorhoming sites. Maybe they like pink, but default scheme of blue and pink reflects our wide origins here. And as has been mentioned, you do have a choice of the default blue and white  |

Hermaphrodite is deprecated by the intersex community, otherwise that was a good list.  I am working on another logo based on the existing one but which will not be so blurred and will scale up better, too. I thought it could also be used for screen sticker if we wanted one. And it doesn't matter if it doesn't get used - I am learning to use Inkscape and The Gimp and I need projects to practice with. It is all good practice for me. |

The link at the top to their site was removed at the request of their admin who said he didn't need a link back on every page and one thread was sufficient, which they do have in the links section. And as I've said, they are welcome to post updates to their site or advertise their forum in that thread so I don't see what the problem is really.
As for their links/friends forum, you post updates about your map for example and motorroamers have posted updates about their site/meets etc. Some of their members asked Q's about what was being done differently here so I posted an update about our map in the appropriate thread. I'm not sure how that is crossing the line any different from you posting an update about your map in your map thread there.

I think this thread is moving away from its origional topic, ie the colour scheme and motives, I think that it would be more constructive if you started another thread please.

i don't have any problem with the colour scheme. you can have pink or blue or white and blue and both of them are far more readble than most other forums on the net. can't see what is problem with other sites apart from big W. on this site the owner collected other peoples camping places and then locked it away and started charging for it this is WRONG and he censores links to other forums with *'s. Also WRONG. but i think nomad is right the two sites of here and the other wild place should be freinds as they have the aims of free information.

Hi we nearly always freecamp - old age pension gives loads of leisure time but too little money to pay camp site fees. 
The van has solar panel, large water tank So we are pretty self sufficient. Jon
