On facebook, Lakefest has today posted that vehicle passes for campers etc are selling quick.
I posted a comment something along the lines of :
I'm curious about the vehicle passes as last year (Firefox) and I purchased camper tickets for our live in vans, transit sized, and were directed onto the same field as the tents, some of which were much bigger than our vans, and with a car parked next to them, took up twice as much space. There was no additional facility for our vans, no hardstanding etc, so we couldn't understand why there was an additional £30 vehicle pass charge for camper vans. This has put me off coming this year. If I wasn't so honest, I would simply purchase a normal camping ticket, bring a tent and put it up but sleep in my van. Your comments or an explanation would be appreciated.
The comment was removed within 5 minutes and I haven't heard anything back.
Just saying... in case anyone is considering going to Lakefest.
Also where we were directed to go was at the bottom of a sloping field and had it rained all weekend, I'm sure we would have had problems getting off the field.

Hi Jess, My name is Martin and I'm one of the organisers of Lakefest. I was the one that deleted your post from facebook as I felt it was more of a complaint and such didn't need to be so public. I did send you a private message on facebook within about 5 minutes of deleting your post. You might of missed it, as I sometimes do, so check your inbox to see if its still there. If not, here is my response. Hi Jess, The field you were directed onto is what we call our share field. Its a mixture of live in vehicles and tents. The reason we created this field was because we had a lot of people asking if they can camp in tents next to their friends in campers. There was a large field for parking and a large field for camping. The camping field was split, 2/3 for tents and 1/3 for 'sharing' Anyone sleeping in a tent would not of been able to park next to their tent. They would of parked in the main car park. We also had a separate field for campers/caravans only but these were mainly hook-ups. I am aware how big tents can get these days (Croft Farm is campsite when not in festival mode and is my fathers business, where I work fulltime), but they dont come with the benefits of a camper (eg, lockable, built in cookers/fridges). This is how we justify the price of a live in vehicle pass at £30. Some festivals charge £50+ We could of been really strict (like some festivals I have attended) and said no to all the tent people that wanted to camp with their campervan buddies but we aim to be a friendly festival that adapts to our customers needs. You say you saw some cars next to some of the tents. Some people emailed us and requested if they purchased a live-in-vehicle pass can they park next to their tent in the 'sharing' field. This was an unexpected request but again we adapted. I'm sorry if you feel hard done-by but hopefully you understand the situation better now. Send me a pm on facebook and i'll sort you out a free live-in-vehicle pass for this years festival. Regards Martin Lakefest Newell www.facebook.com/noolytuneslakefest.co.uk/
