I thought I would share this: join.me/I don't think it is very new technology, just that this is in a very convenient form. You don't need to have an account if you are joining a conference you just log in with the code that they give. We used it in a meeting to look at drawings for a new building (we are architects) and we can discuss with the client on the speaker phone the changes to be made and then use the mouse on the screen to show it on the drawings. They can also take control of the mouse to demonstrate their ideas and several other people can take part too. You could also use it to watch videos with someone on someone elses screen over the net or something like that.

It looks like good site. I'll have to give it a try for a meeting.

There are quite a lot of those around now (conference websites or apps, not string vests). It really depends what you want to do with it...keyboard chat conference, voice conference, video conference, sharing documents or images or whiteboards. I have used Skype for conference voice calls and it works fine, although it does need a bit of discipline not to talk over each other - that is what the chairman is for. It really depends what you want to be able to do at the meeting.
