For those of us with predominantly creative abilities as opposed to having predominantly scientific abilities, understanding electrics can be a complete nightmare (quite shocking in fact, ) In the year that I've had the van I've managed to grasp the basics of understanding how to wire in a leisure battery but I still struggle with working out how to calculate electric consumption and what demand various gadgets etc would have on my leisure battery. Firefox and others have attempted to educate me but I still seem to have a mental block where maths is concerned However, Oldish Hippy posted a link to a website in another thread and after tentatively clicking on a link marked "maths" on that website, I have discovered a wonderfully simple and easy to follow explanation which makes sense to me, where other explanations haven't So here is the link to that wonderful explanation - I hope others find it useful too. www.baddiethepirate.co.uk/baddiepages/maths.htmPlease feel free to post links to other similar pages / websites where scientific dunces like me are not blinded by science but are given simple idiots guide explanations with minimal text and maximum visual appeal or pictoral explanations

I struggled with this until after 12 years old, if it's any consolation. W = V x A and I used to have to write down the other formulas too A = W/V and V=W/A I really did struggle with maths/algebra early on believe it or not! Till one day my physics teacher said to me look, imagine 6 = 3x2 The W is like the 6 Then 3=6/2 and 2=6/3 .... he told me I don't need to write each formula down if saw the parallel. Somehow putting numbers instead of letters helped me out at that age. Maths is like that. If you make one small leap, it opens up lot of possibilities, so don't get too downhearted

so watt does that mean, that WVW understands wvw and watt does it equal, WVW.

LOL, I'm confused too now, algebra isn't my strong point! Do you guys have to understand about electrics to build your camper vans?

Yes! Up to a point anyway, you don't have to be a Professor though! 12 volt wiring is easier than 240v.

There's something I don't know much about - I hear it mentioned a lot at meetings when the building service engineers go off at a tangent. It's either that or fan coil units! Something to do with a more powerful AC supply for large commercial or industrial/plant?
