Some of us use gennies don't we? I know that site dwellers recoil in horror at mention of the word, but they can be really usefull for wilders. The suitcase type are very quiet and its possible to convert them to run on gas. This link was posted on the SBMCC site and has been recommended by a member. www.petepower.co.uk/

I read a week or two ago that there was a loy of probs with these that had been self converted using the kits on e bay. But evidently the factory converted ones are good. I shall certainly be getting rid of my petrol on when I get my new van and get a gas one. They are quieter and more efficient as wel as green friendly and cheaper to run. At the moment I thi k it is cheaper to charge my batteries by running my Bongo engine on idle than to use the genny.

That's a useful link, chap I have a Honda 1.0 Kw and he's not far away as I live on the Herts/Cambs border. My Genny is quite new and I don't use it a lot but you never know if it will need a repair sometime!

I intend to run my next gennie off the gas tank as its gota massive capacity and I don't fancy carrying petrol insideth van .

Can be dodgy if there is a fire but so can my gas all rubbered up - must get that fixed! Petrol could be stored safer in a metal lined fire insulated box but it's a hassle to do.

Get yourself a roll of gas ptfe tape ( one wrap ) and a tub of no nonsense gas & water jointing compound and you won't get any leaks.
