I'm trying to secure some light weight wire to the headlining of my car.
I've tried gaffa tape but that's fallen down within a couple of hours.
I think the main problem is the "hairy" texture of the material.
Any useful suggestions please?

A temporary or permanent installation?
Small pins or sikaflex or impact adhesive?

Semi-permanent, i.e. I might decide to change it at some point in the future.
The idea of carpet tape came to mind.

I decided to take the plunge and get a local bodyshop to fit the lamp and run the cable for me. It's much neater than I could have done. The lamp is LEDs with a two way rocker switch, one way white the other red. It's in reach so I don't have to get out of bed to operate it.
