I went touring for a couple of days and found some nice spots. They're not all suitable for overnighting but are OK for a "tea stop" (maybe that's a new POI category?).
There's a Google Map at the end.
On the B4368 - Much Wenlock to Craven Arms
Shipton lay-by
A "tea stop" lay-by.
52.5194846, -2.6499547
Hungerford
A section of by-passed road near houses with a high hedge.
52.4993396, -2.6838892
Aston Munslow
Swan pub & Car Park
This is a "community car park". I'm sure it's no more than a happy accident that is adjacent to a pub.
It is also the bus stop. There is a petrol station cum village shop.
52.4756195, -2.7190908
Aston Munslow lay-by
A "tea stop" lay-by slightly west of the village.
52.4722896, -2.7233818
Seifton
Plenty of space. Occasionally used by road menders as a materials and equipment dump.
52.4511624, -2.7651982

Sarn Hills CP
A large car park off the end of the tarmac although decently maintained.

There are a number of potential stopping places between Sarn CP and Bishops Castle. See the map link at the end.
On an unclassified road between Basford and Newington/Craven Arms.

Interesting places.
Craven Arms, Walls Butchers.
They sell meat from rare breeds as available. Various shops between here and the A49 junction, inc a chippie.
Craven Arms, Harry Tuffins supermarket.
Works on the "pile it high, sell it cheap" principle and has a vast range.
Marshbrook
Craven Caravans
Bishops Castle
The Three Tuns in Salop Street has its own brewery on the premises. Seriously good beer.
