This is now a STRANGE place on the Northumberland Coast - can't stay there any more:  The whole coast is now pretty much a no go area for wild camping - can't stay there without half-expecting a knock on the door. |

Yes we did, the wind got up and we were unable to use the ferry next day......off to Dover tomorrow, on way to Spain .....for six weeks..........

Anything is possible if we have the time! Are you following the thread on t'other side? Seems ferry goes from Scrabster which I think is on the east coast. Also, Phil is suggesting booking a few nights on a campsite which overlooks the sea.

Scrabster is just over the bay from where we stayed in Thurso. Am not following the other thread at the moment. But campsites to me are a turnoff - unless a one night stand as a necessity to clean up and refresh etc |

Hi we nearly always freecamp - old age pension gives loads of leisure time but too little money to pay camp site fees. 
The van has solar panel, large water tank So we are pretty self sufficient. Jon
