Flippin 'eck, Tories looking to get over 300 at the moment, not a very good night for me, apart from Labour getting what they deserve in Scotland.

Firefox, imagine how I feel? My only comfort it is that Galloway is going to lose his ten k majority and lose back to labour in my constituency. Not confirmed yet!

Well done for local effort if you can win against Galloway... but it looks a sorry result for Labour nationally. Very interesting if Lab + SNP = approx Con + LD overall. But I think LD will swing behind Lab/SNP espec if Nick Clegg loses.

Yes, as expected the A |Team of Capitalism has the most seats and we shall be getting the usual rotten govt from Westminster.
All those so-called leaders of futile, reformist, pressure groups that have now resigned should be very apologetic, indeed, as all they have done is delay the coming of a true revolution that sweeps all the cr ap away once and for all.
This applies to all the mugs who followed them in with votes. 'Tis high time the working class copped itself on. We cannot afford to stay stupid and powerless for ever.
Fair play to that green lady in Brighton and well done Scotland, but until we have a global revolution based on a voluntary democratic acceptance of WORLD SOCIALISM/COMMUNISM nothing much will improve for the vast majority of mankind.
Folk shy away from the obvious and tend to follow daft pollsters and shysters down dead end avenues.
Nige is off to spend all the loot he has amassed on a nice holiday. The other to ssers who have been booted out wll still be riding on the Gravy Train - just in a different compartment.

I'm with you Sean but apart from a post-apocalypse scenario I've given up on people sharing that level of altruism and humanity...

A disastrous night. Now we have a Tory gov unfettered by any moderating influence. Goodbye human rights and goodbye Europe. Hello sanctions against the sick, disabled, and mentally ill. All those who slagged off the Lib Dems can look forward to a propper right wing gov with all the crap that entails as well as unrestricted boundary changes which will hand them another 20 seats in 2020. The Red Tories, with the loss of Scotland are dead in the water.

The Red Tories, with the loss of Scotland are dead in the water. It's only goodbye Europe if the British public choose to Vern, that's democracy. But in my opinion, the whole system is flawed (votes/seats) and needs a revamp. Hopefully, this election has highlighted this!

I don't think anyone in government cares about the system. Tony Liar got 55% of the seats with 35% of the vote in 2005. Those who get power under first past the post have a vested interest in not changing it and that's what it comes down to.

Hi, everybody,
'Tis all a bit late now, but I did try to reply before I went back to the hospital. Perhaps 'twas the drugs or maybe my views were too extreme for the computer, but nothing got through to here.
Billie:
Ye are a soul-sister and on the same road. Fairplay to ye! I think we are doomed to live out our lives under minority rule ( the current system has NEVER been sanctioned by an overwhelming majority of the world's people), but we HAVE to keep the faith. Things WILL CHANGE - probably too late for me, but, hey, that's by the by. Keep on trucking!
--
Firefox,
nil desperandum, my friend!
I said earlier that I thought ye had over-estimated the strength of the Libbers. The facts show that they, the former lib voters, were key ( forget Scotland - a land that did the RIGHT thing this time round; wtf was wrong with them last time?).
Yes, in Cornwall and the West of England, all the wealthy, pleasant places, the folk voted not for the libbers but for the Con and Unionists. That is the truth. They have every right to do this, and, imo, this is mostly the "natural" position for those people.
As for nulab, they gave themselves no chance with a weak, reformist agenda and a poor leader. Leadership wouldn't be an issue if folk voted on policy and principles, but, the sad reality is that many of the working class are now so defeatist that they are beaten before they start and seem resigned to staying in the torture dungeon wth the masters they know.
The point is NONE of the reformist capitalist protest groups will ever achieve anything. The Capitalists just carry on unperturbed. Yes, 'tis likely the ONEPERCENT who own and control everything, are happier with their A Team on the mic, but, they knew that whatever silly bggr won the showbizz contest, it would make not the slightest bit of difference to their set-up.
Revolution is the only thing that will change this. It relies on understanding, acceptance, and BELIEF.
Humanity could bring it about, IF we wanted. At present, we are miles off, and few bother their ar se.
Luckily, I have seen so many changes in my life-time, that I know we can get a better way if we care enough. With the likes of ELON MUSK, things WILL change. Losers will tell us it won't happen. The reason: because they are afraid it will.
Well, edmilliballs to them! Neither tyrants nor losers can stop us!

Hi Sean
I know I'm a gorga woman but if you could find a little room within your extended family / clan / tribe ( not sure how the travelling community defines its various groups), I think I would like to join you and yours if you will have me.
I've lost everything under the previous govt and can't see a future for myself other than pure survival which gets harder every day. I'm mental but that's largely due to a long history of emotional trauma and the best cure is acceptance by others and nature, not the pills that they are trying to force down me, in the hope perhaps that it will stifle my sense of indignation and outrage and keep me more subdued and therefore less of a problem.
I am a crap cook and not a great home maker but I'm at home in the great outdoors, spent much of life working outdoors, and can easily look after myself physically in the van. I'm very creative, using traditional skills and crafts - spinning fleece into yarn, knitting, sewing, felt making etc so I could maybe pay my way in kind somehow.
I can be stroppy and irritable but that's usually when I feel defensive and backed into a corner, both verbally and physically. But I think I'm a decent person, I try to see things from both sides, I avoid confrontation as much as possible and I do try to be honest and hold up my hand if I am in the wrong.
So how's about it? Any chance of finding a new life with your people? My alternative is to look to join some other off grid community, the world as it is now is too much for me, and I have to get out before it kills me, and turn to nature for healing. That's what I've been trying to do alone but I've realised I can't do it alone, I do need to be with other like minded people, who I consider as "safe" people. You strike me as that kind of person.
No need for instant reply, just something for you to mull over. If I hear nothing from you on the subject, I won't pursue it further.
Thanks for inadvertently and probably unwittingly giving someone a bit of strength and inspiration that perhaps one day things could be different, we just need to keep on fighting.

WVW,
What a lovely post! Your words were very kind. I'm sorry I'm late in replying: truth is I could be on the way out and am having to attend hospital almost every week.
Why didn't we all meet up forty years ago?
Sadly, my future is limited and I don't think my dreams will come true. However, a miracle may occur, so keep in touch.
I actually feel better than I did ten years ago! Crazy, isn't it?!
For nearly seven decades I always bounced back after adversity. Now everything seems to be gone into the hands of others, and, boy, do I hate being dependent!
I'm determined to do my bit to return to the fray. IF I succeed, ye will hear about it, but, get this, the world and society are changing fast. This applies to travellers too. I met a mate at the hospital. He's a full-blood romanichal. For twenty four years ( including the foot-and-mouth) he's attended Appleby Fair. This year, he may not go! Last year, he was in the overflow field in his tent. Young travellers - full of drugs - hooked his tent onto their big jeep and pulled it out of the ground along with the tent of a younger couple nearby. Not content with that, they ripped away the Crown Derby china fella's trailer and smashed everything to pieces!
There is no need for any of this nonsense. There used to be respect, but that seems to have gone.
Until folk come back to their senses, we are going to be under pressure, imo. It's got to happen; humanity has no choice.
Btw, I SHALL mull over points made.

Sean, what a lovely video. I've shared it on FB, I think. Your comments are disturbing....people on this forum really enjoy and appreciate your posts. We would love to meet you too. I hope you're not going through this alone? If you need any help or support, independent as you are, I know that I and others would do what we could.

Yeh, me too. What was it again? Oh yes, "I just need to flutter my eyelashes and men do what I want". And then there's the very ill then the rapid recovery when benefits are reinstated thing. 😉
Sorry hen, but you've been rumbled big style. 😎
