It's not Mr X's work just to avoid any confusion, he is sorting out this spaghetti left by previous tradesmen ! They shouldn't really have notched the joists like that, but they are 220 joists only going 3.5m, so it should be OK

How you feel about having me and menagerie on your driveway for another few weeks? I'm not well enough to drive at the moment and am parked up on council car park opposite health centre now for the foreseeable week or maybe more until I get help to get well. But maybe in a couple of weeks?
It would do me world of good to potter round garden, digging it over, planting bulbs and seeds, making herb garden, laying turf, training honeysucle, jasmine, ivy to grow back nicely, and no pruning, I promise!
I will see if I can arrange for MH "care" to be transferred to your area so that I can get meds easily and maybe support. The team there can't be any worse than here and there may be more services than here.

No probs, any time you want The wood also has parking for one van, when grass grows through mat in the next couple of months if you wanted to try that at any time. (40 mins drive from my place North) Charlie and RT also here at various times in next couple of months, but I can always park at Tesco if space becomes tight. Once we have front garden levelled and gravelled there will be an additional space there. Doctors surgery and chemist next door and at Tesco and also www.nhs.uk/ServiceDirectories/Pages/GenericServiceDetails.aspx?id=37836171.5 miles away could offer more advice about local services.

Hopefully that's a vague plan then. Everything is too much for me at the moment but I need something to focus on and aim for.

It's great you are looking forward a little I've found a big difference during the last few days too, with the sun and the warmth coming. I don't feel I get seasonal affective disorder, but I do lack motivation in the cold winter months. I'm also making enquiries to get a water supply put in at the woods.

You would not want to see the "beforest" photos, believe me!
(A look at the bottom of the back kitchen door shows what damp from a water leak can do ... it's nasty stuff)

Yes, Mr and Mrs X off to Derbyshire today, but I will need your help to order from Howdens as I believe it is trade only order. I've fitted a few kitchens before and this one is very simple. Just a galley, with straight unit runs down each side and no corners. So, I'll try to muddle through on that, but may well need some help/advice on various things! Thanks for offering

It might be a few more weeks yet before I'm able to come down, everything still day by day. And also I might be off to Arran for a week or so sometime in April, but will keep you posted via FB.
But don't worry, I fully intend to make your garden look lovely this year :-)

Cheers! I think Mark is coming in early April for about 10 days for the plastering.
I can recommend Arran from last year. That wool I got you was from Arran on the West coast around all the standing stone circles.

Is it spring yet, dormouse?can you put aside some clemati for me to plant in Vern's garden. He likes plants which climb and cover everything - it's going to be hard work pursuading him that a little pruning every now and again is actually good for the plants so they need to be good and hardy and able to survive neglect ;-) Although I'm sure he will say that after last year's pruning, he's lucky to have anything still left alive in his garden.
