Not feeling so rough now, so a bit more.. did around 3500 miles, lots of detours etc.weather wasnt too bad, after all it is Green Spain! Next year intend to go down to south of spain for the heat.stayed in several aires from the camperstop book.not many in the book for spain, and 3 or 4 didnt exist at all.going to get all the aires book for next time, dont know if they do a tom tom version like C S though.sat nav packed up at one point ( NOW SORTED) , were absolutely knackered without it.certainly got thrown in the deep end on how to use it! Called in a couple of campsites to do washing etc, very expensive, but almost worth it to be able to run the 240v fan as we slept!.Did mostly all our own cooking, but had 2 or 3 meals out.saw very few english registrations.met a few brits who were touring like us, swapped stories and beers.my home made cooler box was quite good, needed ice ( or is that helios or isa? Lol) every couple of days, so very cheap to 'run' .got quarter light window smashed in a car park in deba, poss attempted break in.loads of hassle to patch it up, but thats a story in itself! Broke in to a renault for a brit who lost his keys in a car park.

So heres a bit more on our adventures... Returned to the van parked in a car park in Deba, quarter light window drive side shattered, toughened glass.appears that the mirror has been bent round, hit the glass .nothing stolen, about a 2"diam hole, so no one couldve got their hand in.police there within literally 2 mins, not called by us.gaffa'd the remaining glass .went to an aire at bilbao, advised by attendant that theres a 'plastico' shop in bilbao, gives me the address, off we go next day to find it.bilbao is like driving in london west end, sat nav going bonkers repositioning as we try to find the shop.eventually,2hrs later, bingo, we are there.Bollocks! its a sticky back plastico shop not a perspex plastico shop! Buy a few cheapo tools , off we go.time to get inventive! Pulls out the back of one of the cupboards..4mm ply.make a temp, cut wood and fit.cant see mirror, so chop a square hole in just the right place, and swmbo suggests glazing it with a cd case.super glue , job down, gun it all up with silicone and the cheapo cartridge gun purchased earlier.couple of days later we are directed to a sign makers shop, who has a lump of perspex about 5mm thick.cut the hole in wood much larger,, no drill, so have to burn holes in the perspex by using screwdriver heated on gas ring.bolts around the edge every 4 ins, bought from another local sell everything shop.superglue and more silicone gunned on, looks like an armoured car, mad max wouldve been proud! Drove a couple thousand miles with it, didnt leak ,worked well. Sorry to ramble, more later....
