The fibreglass antennae bit has broken off. I think the base and socket is OK.
Anyone replaced one of these - are they push fit in the base?

Replaced mine on the traffic and went for the genuine one I will look it up for you The cone shaped bit just unscrews from the base if the same as mine .

The fibreglass had split on mine near the bottom so I slid some heatshrink sleeving over it. Good fix, but mine is somewhere getting blown about the A1, M6, or in Scotland I thought 5 live reception had become a bit dodgy!

Good point - I was wondering how the old one came out. I gave it a hand twist but it's solid. May need some mole grips.

Vern I got a spare one of these if you have not replaced it yet. If you have mended your old one perhaps you can keep it as a spare. I will bring it to Brandon if you want it. Its free to a good home but you got to feed it plenty of signals to keep it from fading away. .... Tom ....

Nope I don't watch TV at all... I don't have a TV licence Don't watch in the house either or have landline or broadband. This aerial is for the van radio. I have a Mifi for the computers (and also a dongle) both on 3 - can get internet virtually anywhere.

Very many thanks to stonedaddy last weekend. He brought a choice of two along to Brandon meet. One of them fitted perfectly - I just screwed it in. Now road-tested I can report it works great. Needed mole grips to get the old one out.

Pliers might have done it, but I don't know if I could have got enough grip. It was well rusted and awkward to get at.
