I wouldn't go for a static because of the depreciation angle.
I know a motorhome depreciates too, but that's mimimised by my self build choice.
However, even though I've not got a static, I still learned something today from that forum about possible changes to the 1960 caravan act

years ago i found that people buy statics to live in while doing up their houses, and they were virtually worthless at the end of the build.so i rented a bit of land and stuck 2 statics on it for about £400 and lived there on and off for years. we loved them-easy to heat, had a coal fire with a back boiler,we'd be happy to live in one again

... don't know much about statics, but can always learn a few things I do!.....Strip one of its aluminium skin and you can get sixty three quid down the scrapyard! The timber and some of the fixtures are good for selfbuilds too. Good luck Andy!

Well things going pretty much to plan, influx of visitors and more a steady stream now.
Getting a consistent flow of new posts etc takes some doing with only a few members.
Definitely a different world to motorhoming, and has someone mentioned Statics can be a money pit if on the wrong site depreciation etc.
Often see on ebay vans free !....just need removing and that can be a fortune in itself.
RT is right, they do offer bits and bats for self builds
Anyway, TTFN
