I know that some of you hardened wild campers wouldn't dream of using them, but for the softer people (like me ) I find them to be excellent value for midweek breaks. I have just booked the Park Resorts sites at Hunstanton, for 5 nights from Sunday 27th April, at £7.65 per night and the Breydon Water site near Gorleston, from Sunday 18th May for 5 nights, at £5.60 per night - both sites include EHU and use of all park facilities (swimming pools etc) during the stay. You can only get EHU pitches at Hunstanton, but Breydon Water do non-electric pitches for only £4.00 per night, still with all park facilities. Just don't ever consider going of Friday or Saturday nights, or during school holidays, unless you are happy to take out a mortgage

Probably it would be OK-ish off peak as it would be empty.

Probably it would be OK-ish off peak as it would be empty. Which is why I go Sunday to Thursday, when the kids are at school No way would I use them when they were full of screaming rugrats and their equally obnoxious parents, whose sole ambition seems to be to get their rugrats to use the F word correctly I rarely use the evening entertainment facilities, because they often make Britain's Got No talent look good, but the sites are cheap bases to look around an area. Last October/November I got some with EHU etc for £3.50 per night - probably cheaper than staying at home

We use the one at Walton-on-the-Naze every September on our way home from Kent £5 a night with ehu and they do a cooked breakfast for £4 absolute bargain and there is usually only 1 or 2 other MH on the field

Brilliant. At these prices I would consider it, especially as there would be very few, if any kids about. Just been to Skipsea Sands with daughter and family in a caravan (weekend) and the place was like a ghost town, which suited us, we really enjoyed it. Is this just off season prices? think it sounds like a good place to arrange a 'wild' camping meet everybody booking themselves in of course. Is there a list of these places anywhere.

Just go on the park resorts website they have them in a lot of the main holiday resorts but not all of them have touring facilities and yes these are out of season prices anything from £5 to £8 inc ehu. We would never use them in season as they are a bit over powering and expensive then.

Is there a list of these places anywhere. A lot of Haven camps have touring facilities - they tend to be slightly dearer than Park Resorts, but the toilet/shower blocks are frequently better. I was at the Haven site in Clacton, before going to Whitwell, at a cost of £7.80 per night.

I've used these sites when with family and they make a change as do the i.o.w. Red funnel deals do.

I like the idea of getting use of Swimming Pools etc. Off-Peak & No Crowds but can't take advantage unless Someone offers to let Nico stay with Them whilst Me & Jo go!! (Any Takers?...) Went to 'Transitmania', organised by the Transit Forum, Year before last, at Billing Aquadrome...Was OK, & Nico & His Mate enjoyed the Rides etc. but very crowded!...
