Can anyone help me with a suggestion for a POI in or around here please? Preferably within a half hours drive. Thank you

This looks great: goo.gl/maps/BF6u1goo.gl/maps/GNsGIRight at the end of a minor road where it goes into a bridleway. Room for parking on the verge. No traffic. Walk the dogs down the bridleway. Only 1 mile or 2 south out of town. 52.293534,-0.173753

Brilliant! Thanks Vern. Have you been there? It looks like the verge is a slope, possibly going down to a culvert, and may be a bit steep for mine?

Nope haven't been there. This one looks even better: goo.gl/maps/sOXangoo.gl/maps/ct0C7At the end of "Cow Lane" Loads of parking and nearby footpaths. 52.326899,-0.146672 Not just the view I show but go right to the end of Cow Lane and there is more parking as well. Attachments:

This was how I found the WCL: Basically go to Google maps, and drag off the yellow man onto the map without dropping him. All the roads show up in blue. The ones in the town are a mass close together, but the ones in the country, especialy the dead ends show up really well. At the end of dead ends, there is often parking and they are quiet, often with footpaths or green lanes, and bridleways nearby. Just drop the man on the dead end points and take a look around to see if they are suitable. On the map I found a really good one by the yellow dot, but there are plausible places at many of the others.

Just realised...We've over-nighted at Houghton Mill CP (NT) before. Altho' this was January last year, when the adjacent Camp-Site was shut; dunno if You'd be hassled or not now it's Spring....?

Try Cow Lane for deffo. There is what looks like a big car park at the end of that. Can't see it clearly but this site has more details and maps about parking: www.wildlifebcn.org/reserves/cow-laneLots of walks round there. Dogs on leads in nature reserve, but other footpaths available.
