cheap guitar on ebay
I am at this place at least once a month often more and it can be delivered in the usual way person to person ps. it looks ok but I don't know much about guitars but do know it is completely out of tune, they also have plans to sell another guitar ( not a stagg but similar ) a keyboard and a transit long wheelbase hightop minibus ideal for conversion.

Could be a bargain. I wondered about the finish on the top plate though. It looks water damaged ... or is it just the light. Could affect the tone if it's laminate and has separated.

I think thats the reflection of the white packing material because I'm sure there was no damage when I looked at it, I will pass on the comment about the quality of his photographs next time I'm there

Yes they need to show their products in the best light so to speak if they are going to get any decent bids on them. That product goes for about £50.00 new. A fair price on ebay could be £15-25, but they put it up with a poor photo and no details. The features of that one are easily available on the web: Top, Back & Sides: basswood Neck: nato Fingerboard & Bridge: solid maple (black painted) Machine heads: standard, nickel Finish: highgloss Scale Length: 646 mm Size: 4/4 Model They are going to get poor bids if they don't feature the product. I'd put in a bid, but have a classical and a travel acoustic now... don't think I have space for any more

I was just researching the wood they used for this: Basswood. Comes from the the Tilia or Linden tree. Stagg is a fairly budget make, but looks like they used solid sheets on this. It doesn't say laminate. Solid wood usually has a much better tone; well the top plate is the most important bit.
Looking into Basswood guitars, it can be a good wood, but fairly light and prone to dents so you have to look after them. My Harmony guitar has spruce laminate, but very good tone, and my Taylor GS mini solid mahogany - also very good tone. I was lucky with the Harmony because it was a 70's build after Harmony went bust and sold the rights to an Asian manufacturer. But it always had a great tone despite the laminate top. The Taylor GS Mini is made in Mexico, but it is a premium brand, and they do use very good materials, so again that is is excellent, almost too lively with certain strings on, it really vibrates for the size.
