Anyone thinking on going to this? Two years ago we had a really great meet there and it was reputed to be the best sunrise for many years Last year I didn't see anyone from the forum, but already knew some of the regulars there. I'm off again this year as I just love the whole atmosphere of the event.

It's on Thursday March the 20th this year. I'd go, but the midweek dates are difficult for me, due to work.

This may be the last chance, depending on the fate of the by way.

May be able to make this Wed. Any help with location/access route. Havn't been to Stonehenge for forty years. They are still in the same place although English Heretics is looking into moving them to London as a survey has shown they will attract more visitors !

Ha ha! Though I'm sure you can be a wee bitty more helpful than that Here is map link, which shows the byway. There is no right turn from the A303, so just go up to the roundabout and double back. I've not been up for a while, but was thinking of using the access from Larkhill to park up on the byway by the Cursus (behind the car park). Basildog many be able to advise further. maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=209550058470450792884.000456a75c68418de341b&msa=0&dg=feature

Yes Larkhill is a good way in as last time we were there it was really rough getting in from the 303 and yes only a left turn so if coming from the east you have to go round the roundabout ! The Larkhill way in was fine we did it in ours so must be ok ! Not a carpark anymore that is the road train station !

I know there is a Facebook page for Byway 12, but I can't find it. Anyone know what it's called? I think it's something like 'Keep Byway 12 open'. I'm also a member of a FB group for Stonehenge, but can't find that either! Grrr I know Rubbertramp is also a member and some others on here. Any pointers appreciated. Thanks.

Our page is just about keeping Byway 12 Open You'll also find this one useful: www.facebook.com/groups/hengeoats/It's the OATS or Open Access to Stonehenge page. Andraste Herewig coordinates with all the Stonehenge Groups and they go to the RT (Round Table) meetings with English Heretics, so will publish access details for Equinox and Solstice. If it was Friday morning, I could go as I'm trying to get Friday off to go to RH.
