Hi, I would be interested in attending a meet at this location but the date clashes with a big spring meet from 25th to 28th April with another forum.

Sounds OK for me, it is the weekend after Harefest, for any Harefesters. Campfire in a pit, cool. Instruments, food and wine. That's all we need apart from good weather! Sketching in charcoal I would like to have a go at... have a set from lotusanne, but haven't got round to using it yet.

I have got a Taylor GS mini guitar now, and have been practising "Freight Train". Music here: I have got the tabs, the melody and the chords on the above. Chords are quite easy C : x32010 G : 320003 E7: 020100 F : xx3211 or 133211 The original USA finger picking folk song. Which is the other meet, I didn't notice one?

But no matter, I'll be going to yours, although I probably need to get Friday off. Edit: Just trying to think of that Fleetwood Mac song, was it Landslide? .... Fingerstyle guitar Maybe this? www.youtube.com/watch?v=enjOjh5B4UA

aaaaaaaa you remembered ...Yes Vernon it is Landslide ..I can play bits of it and I am ok singing it ish ...but its a tricky one and yet they say its the easiest song to play ....well not for me its not. Its just the same all the way through but I just cant get it DOH !!! Glad you coming to Rudgwick ..I think its just going to be a small meet by the looks of things, I don't think people like the idea there is no pub nearby but Paul and I going to calculate how far the pub is as we are going there at weekend ..If not I think we have enough alchohol to open our own pub anyhoooooooo. We will try and do bbq on the Sat weather permitting......

I am getting into fingerstyle guitar now, Travis picking and Mark Knoffler/Tommy Emmanuel. Also Paul Simon, but I think he's for next year.
Not having a pub is no problem for me - it is cheaper to bring own booze! Only really a problem if it rains heavily and we can't sit outside in comfort.

There are pubs in Rudgwick or Bucks Green - less than 1 mile walk. 20-25 mins at the most.

I'm so excited about this meet - think it will be perfect for us. Campfire, music, wine and friends.........what more do we need. I really need some lessons on my purple ukulele so this might be the perfect opportunity I will bring the tambourine too just in case I don't master the ukulele.

Hey rob I am not sure what it clashes with I think its another meet on another forum. I tried to be careful with dates as I know there lots going on. So glad you can make it And its nice that people are being positive about lack of pub. Saying that Vern,s Right I reckon its about a twenty min walk ....could be fun staggering home in a dark wooded Footpath. There is always an option of getting a keg of your favourite tipple ..... What's it called again lol :-)

I should point out though Jac that it is the coarse fishing closed season between March 15th and June 16th, so will be illegal to fish.
Perhaps save that for a second meet in the Summer?
