When we took the van to Italy we had a ride most of the way up Vesuvius in a Unimog, It was very steep but it got up there no bother. Fantastic machine.

Sorry for posting this twice this blinking tablet, I never know wether it has posted or not sometimes. A Bulgarian friend of mine took well arranged for my kids to go up the ski slopes in a piste basher ! They loved it as you can imagine as those bad boys really do go to places normal vehicles never see ? One of those trips money cannot buy and the same guy had his waiters dragging the kids up a ski slope on sledges while we ate our meal ! When I tried to pay was told to go away ! Same guy turns up at table with a bottle of malt and chocolates for kids ! |

I quite like the look of this: That's my dream, an Iveco 4x4. I know they are not quite as capable as the Unimog, but far better MPG and comfort. |

Yes I agree Rob! Bigger than a Landrover,but smaller than a mog.That would be my ideal camper also.They have Difflocks so would be ideal for off the track camping.

We should have a separate section for all you off road droolers  You can all be like Jed the Spread and his 4x4 synchro mates, wild camping on all the green lanes and rough tracks. Wales is good for that. |

Hi we nearly always freecamp - old age pension gives loads of leisure time but too little money to pay camp site fees. 
The van has solar panel, large water tank So we are pretty self sufficient. Jon
