Any banjo players here? I can't play any instruments myself, but I will be building another project soon. Some time ago Mr Brown posted a YouTube link to a man making and playing a cigar box banjo. The man is rpeek .Richard Peek, after further investigation is a bit of a YouTube legend ( like Mr Fox!) and posts videos most days on a variety of topics, mainly making things.Anyway I got hooked on his videos and found some on making a gas can banjo, and after a few glasses of red Ive got this mad idea.To build a gas can banjo So I need to start collecting parts and I'll start a new thread on my progress. Any banjo players here?

Ellisboy, if you fancy a gas can project I could do with a small woodburner for my Tranny Sent by Android from Cloud Cuckoo Land

i helped a mate make a proper banjo, and to get the curve on the back of the soundbox i stretched a rubber incontinence sheet over a small dustbin and poured cement onto it,then when it set made a female mould from that then made a steam box round the mould.my god we were keen ! made a lovely banjo mind.
