Since when have you seen me needed to be loaded into my home after drinking all day - it's all those lightweights who fall over after a couple of lemonades! Anyway, I just got my from Drink Stuff. Just ordered on line in the morning and picked it up at lunchtime from the showroom. They refunded postage onto my card. Great service.

Guiness cocktails def allowed - you can have ice with guiness - it's the extra cold version! Sardine and banana butties are allowed but they have to have the crusts cut off to make them "posh" and could be liable to seasoning with black pepper, salt, and olive oil to add the haut cuisine touch Cut the crusts off, goodness my mum would turn in her grave. She always told me its the crusts that made your hair curly. .... Tom ....

Got an old well used bucket bbq which I'm going to chuck (got a new one) unless anyone wants it. It would do for farmer Phil's and could then be chucked afterwards.
Any takers?

I'll take it. I'm needing something small to carry all the time in the van as the firepit is a bit big for that I am at Farmer Phils. Arrived about Mid day. Field is filling fast, about 50 campers here already, though it is quite big. If we all want a space together, I would get here sooner rather than later. We may be able to save some places if people are going to arrive the next day but need to get a few vans in a corner somewhere to stake our claim. Amenities - burger van and loos in the field. Can get Three broadband in the field and phone signal - it disappears quite rapidly behind hills in the local area though. 1 mile to the south - The Bridges Inn. Food and beer all day. Free Wifi. Password thebridges1. Big car park which they advertsise for general use - good WCL. Nearest shops - Church Stretton. 5 miles over VERY winding and narrow road over the hills. Advise bring supplies as far as possible.

Al, hopefully you will see a big difference in a certain white dog almost exactly a year to the day since that beach incident. He really is a different dog now, haven't had any repeats of that since.
Set off late last night after the cat finally came home after hours of calling her. By 1am I was feeling sleepy so pulled over for 40 winks just before Whitchurch and just woke half an hour ago!
Am only about am hour away so should be there by noon.

Another sunny day at Farmer Phils. Went for a walk to the pub yesterday and took Rigg-The-Pig. Even Ruby came too. Diesel is turning into a lovely dog. He's very lively but well under control and his coat is smooth and glossy with no bare patches. Very many thanks to Is it spring yet, dormouse? for the cushion and @wvw for the book and material to cover my hudl wifi case

Sore knees from dancing to the Orb last night, took me back 20 odd years. Weather continues to be fab, no rain at all, although the nights are chilly as we're 1000 feet up in the Shropshire hills. But lovely clear starry skies and I've seen shooting stars every night. A lovely location, remote but only 10 miles from Shrewsbury.
Mobile reception is patchy hence the lack comms so far.
A great group of Fuckem UK-ers, many laughs, many weird and wonderful cocktails, and the campers on the far side of the field can hear Onion.
Toilets and showers are good, the stalls are all true crafty stalls, selling homemade stuff or recycled stuff or promoting traditional crafts, no cheap imported tat. I'm kicking myself for not getting myself sorted for doing a stall but will definitely do it next year.
The roll call : Vern Tom Penny Carol Onion Ann Mark Jill Mary Chris out to lunch Chris winddancer Alec Al
We have our own little commune and its lovely to wander round the vans and just sit and chat and drink and laugh.
The Blockheads (hit me with your rhythm stick) are headlining tonight.
Wish you were here... ;D

Seconding what wvw said - great festival. Orb last night, pretty good 7/10. The Baghdaddies were the best for me though 9/10, really brought the house down. Great weather too - so far! Storms forecast tonight, but we can't complain - have had a really good week Wonderful encampment. The best ever. Will take some photos.

Lying in bed wondering what state the tarp is in, I can't believe it's survived Big Bertha and is still standing (sort of), although it needs some repairs and my craft stall idea needs some serious rethinking. But at least I now know what doesn't work!
What a great festie this has been. I'll definitely be back next year. And nice to know that we got till tomorrow lunchtime to pack up leisurely and not have to rush to be off the field.
Ferocious Dog was the top act for me, followed by The Outcast Band which were the 2 bands I really wanted to see. The Greenland Whale Fishers sounded quite good from the van, and the Orb started off well but I dont think they were as good as I was expecting.
I suppose I'd better throw Diesel off the bed and haul my ass out of it to inspect the tarp...

Probably the best festival I have been to Three days of mayhem with mostly good weather, and three days of camping beforehand with the sun shining. Lots of walks with the dogs along the Shropshire way and an 8 mile trip round the Stiperstones ridge. Also a van trip to Church Stretton over the Long Mynd. Numerous visits to The Bridges Pub 1 mile from the festival site. Quite a few cocktail parties with fancy snacks and G&T on tap. Top Bands Ferocious Dog 10/10 Baghdaddies 9/10 The Outcast Band 9/10 Dan Donnerlly 8/10 Greenland Whale Fishers 8/10 Brook Williams & Band 8/10 The Orb 7/10 Zoot Money 7/10 Black Max and the Pirates 7/10 Funky and the two tone babe 7/10 Other bands Blockheads 6/10 Vice Squad 5/10 Gonads 4/10 Farmer Phil is also offering cheap camping in the coming year... we may have a rally there subject to price and availability etc. Check out www.farmerphilsfestival.com/ in the coming months for details of year round camping.

Just the hardcore dregs left on the camping field left now, me and Penny ate (lol, don't you just love predictive text mistakes) are the last of the Fuckems and hoping to get away with another night here. Farmer Phil has had a drive round but as yet no one has come to see if/when we ate going. Big Bertha is still making her windy presence known with sporadic rain showers but we're hoping to be able to sit next to a campfire tonight, as it just seems so wrong to go to a festie and not have a fire. Plus I have a big box of wood to burn which is in the way inside the van. Planning to stay in the area for a while to explore and maybe catch up with kangooroo and Pollik.

It would be good to see you if you are able to head this way. We're in the throes of packing up the house for a move in October but I could show you Wrenwood (and a very good parking spot nearby) and introduce you to our Binsack Mountain and Mount Charity-Shop which are increasing steadily by the day. You'll be really impressed by the state of our house and garden at the moment! I could meet you most days except Thursday this week/weekend or next week but meetings would have to be here (Pollik is welcome) or Wrenwood (Pollik's van would probably be too large for the lanes though). Please keep me posted.

Please keep me posted. Vague plan is to stay round here to explore the area this week and then move on down your way maybe over the weekend, but i can fit around your plans as I have an empty diary until the bank hol weekend when I'm heading to Vern's. So maybe a visit to you and /or wrenwood over weekend or early next week? I'll pm you my mobile but no reception till I move from here tomorrow. Still at farmer Phil's, the last 2 on the field apart from one other van which is broken down and waiting for a tow truck and facing a £400 bill :-( No one seems remotely perturbed that we are still here but moving on tomorrow - a whole week in one spot feels strange and my battery needs a good charge. Wind finally seems to have dropped but still sporadic rain showers so probably no campfire tonight unless it continues to stay dry for next couple of hours. Im gutted to see 3 whole wooden crates abandoned and wish Charlie was here with his chainsaw. Although I'm soooo tempted to take them, I just couldn't get them into my van and still be able to use it :-( I can't believe what has been left behind, tents, tarps, chairs, gazebos, firewood. On dog walks I've come back with a fair few tent pegs, 2 juggling balls, 50p, several marker pens and a sci-fi fantasy book, brand new. Ive found a pipe contraption on the grass where Toms van was and it may have come off his waste pipe. I'll post a photo once my phone is charged.

I'm not likely to be going anywhere over the coming weeks while packing so you're welcome to pop along to the house and meet the gang, have a tour (you'll cringe when you see how we're living at the moment!) then show you Wrenwood and a good overnight parking spot for the night which the dogs will enjoy too. I may be able to join you there. Almost any afternoon/evening at the weekend (J will be away then) or next week would be fine. Don't expect too much scintillating conversation though - with all the parental issues (3 are now incapacitated) and and long days of decluttering and packing, I'm getting pretty knackered so a short break would be very welcome. I think you already have my phone number, email addy and home address. If not I can send it via text. You'll know the house when you see it!

Well that's me well and truly music festivalised. I had a great time and the weather was great until the last couple of days. I enjoyed the 8½ half mile walk even though I did a fair amount of whinging going up the mountains but recovered free wheeling down the other sides. Well needed walks to the pub was well enjoyed bar it was uphill all the way home. Chris (OTL) put some really great drinks out for tasters and set us up in grand style with his awning and army camouflage netting. Verns GT went down well with plenty of takers but I stuck mostly to the Guinness. Vern also came out with his little three tiered thingy with fancies on it. My sardine and banana butties never managed to get out of the tin. We had a great house warming Thursday night at Carols new van and everyone was there with all the stuff moved from Chris's van and set up at Carol's. The hostess nearly turned up but not to be outdone we moved all the stuff to Marks (RT) new van and had it there. Onion our ever so generous companion went over to the hamburger van and supplied anyone who wanted a burger. I think Carols van got a good christening at Brandon with Vern and a few more breaking a can of Guinness on her bows. Got quiet a good week out of Jess with the occasional ear bashing. Same with our wild and woolly Windancer (Chris) who was quiet calm and happy as long as you did not dare to cross the line of her patience. Al flitting about all over the place and keeping up the hours well. Penny working most of the time but we did see her now and again ( did you get any more mugs Pen). Mark (RT) was up for the music all the time with Jill (Harvestmoon) and the long mountain walks. MaryMac with her bad back, broken leg, broken arm, still half way down the slippery slopes boogieing trying for another bad leg with her flashing Mohican hair cut. Alec with the best pirates costume at the Festival ( bar mine ). Ann going for broke dancing at a hundred mile and hour in the slush pit ( where did that energy come from ?). Hereford Ron joining us most of the time and making a steady track to the beer tent and back. Annette and hubby always up for the nights in there chairs on Henmans hill. The seven dogs that made us look like a Batters'y dogs home outing. Then me going down the slope to mush in the slush for my first time. Yeah I had a bloody wonderful time, thanks to you all for your company and will never forget it. Just to add my three penneth I think the best group by far was The Greenland Whale Fishers who sounded more like the Pouges than the Pouges themselves. If I've missed anyone out, sorry . Going to put a couple of photos on but plenty more to follow .. .... Tom ....
