www.farmerphilsfestival.com/index.htmThe Orb headlining on Friday night 7 nights camping included in cost of ticket - bargain holiday in Shropshire with music festival thrown in. I'm going to try to get to this one in 2014. PS. Dogs (and cats!) allowed - one of the few festivals which allow dogs

Wow, The Orb, Perpetual Dawn - one of my fave pieces from the 1990's. Here's a taster: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DetiWap-FM www.youtube.com/watch?v=rRjDSGqgFjIThough I know they have morphed a lot and I haven't been in touch with any of their more recent stuff. Would like to go if poss, and Shropshire is kind of accessible for people from all over the UK so it may be a good one to fix on. May be clashes as popular date.

It did clash last year. Is there a festival diary anywhere? Think maybe it clashed with Seasidefest?

It clashes with Cropredy and Lakefest again in 2014, but I've done both of those the last couple of years, and Farmer Phils is much better value.
Not sure about Seaside Fest, but that's a smaller one and we may be able to contact them to sync dates as they organised it at quite short notice last year and I've a feeling it doesn't have to be 8-10 August for them. Espec if 20 of us maybe at Farmer Phils, they'll want to maximise their crowd.

Ps we need to sort date for Scotland too! So much fun to be had!

I've been adding these various festivals to the forum calendar (see link at top of page) - I'm gradually ploughing through various websites, gig lists etc, but am just adding the ones I'm particularly interested in at the moment.
If everyone can add info about festivals local to them, or which they are going to, then the calendar will be really useful.

This will be a dilemma for me if it cant be changed as have already said will go to Seafest - and it was really lovely last year. I am not so sure it would be that easy for them to change if venue and musicians have already been booked - and I have a feeling the date was set ages ago. Has anyone contacted singer on tour? if not I will Farmer Phil's is also excellent, went the year before last and would def recommend it and go again

I mentioned it to Jo. But she says no probs they have loads of other gigs coming up this year, just check them out on Facebook.
No Roving Crows or Ferocious Dog at Farmer Phils yet which is a shame but full line ups are yet to be confirmed.

Good idea - it would be a shame if nobody turned up because of the clash in dates Hopefully the date can be changed Last year they arranged at about a month's notice, as I understand, and it was a lot of motorhome people who turned up. This year, they have a lot more time to get the crowds in, but aside from that I would like to go to both farmer Phils and Seaside Fest if possible.

If so, he needs to be contacted to see if he can change the date.

I told Jo it clashed. I didn't suggest changing, as I thought it may be a bit rude... I mean it's up to them if they know about clashes, and they may have other people coming apart from us

That's sounds good Chris and really cheap. Do you know where it is exactly? It says "set in the beautiful English countryside not far from Wrexham on a site overlooking the Welsh mountains and will be on 1st-3rd August. " Also say can stay until the Monday so anyone going to Farmer Phil's for the week could just carry on

No I don't know exactly where it will be but as it's only a small festival with a 500 person limit it won't need a lot of space, I went last September to Something Else in the Dean and it was great, I've got no worries about not knowing the exact location I've known Gail since the first Bearded theory and have faith in her ability to put on a good small festival.
