I've got a few ideas for some new threads relating to mobile communications eg recommended android apps, iphone apps, mobile signal dead spots, mobile mast locations, wifi signal boosters, TV reception, free wifi hotspots, recommended mobiles / laptops/ tablets / sat navs /aerials etc - all these could be threads in the MH Chat board as they are relevant to MHomers but it occured to me that it might be better to have a dedicated "Mobile Communications" board. Happy to be mod or to share mod-ship with any other techy geeks.

Yes thats a good idea! It would be good to know more about wifi boosters etc before buying and also when posting wilding spots it would be good to add what the 3G reception is,my weekend spot had none unless you parked 300 metres up the road.

I was thinking more general interest photos rather than MH orientated. Scenery, places of interest, birds animals and so forth

OK, I've modified the headers to include "all pics." If we get pages of threads about motorhome pics and loads of other pics we can split into two forums later. If you want to start a competition I'll donate a prize. It will probably only be £5 or £10 via pay pal but better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick (second prize: a years free subscription to this forum!!)

OK Brian will do! I don't mind offering a couple of small prizes to get us started. Later on when we build up membership, we may be able to blag some free tickets for motorhome shows, sponsorship, link a trafficked blog with Google ads, or get some donations. We'll then build up a prize fund for competitions. I may monetise my You Tube channel. I've got over 1000 subscribers now so a little advertising from that will give us maybe £50 to £100 a year. A few cross links a bit of passing traffic and it's surprising what can be done for free. I have a radar key you can copy if you like - but it may be at risk of starting WW3 if we post about it

Firefox, please could we have a Techy/Geeky section in Non Motorhoming Chat as I have a techy/geeky question about RAM, and it's not really a Mobile Comms issue.
Thanky muchly.

Mine was one of the earlier accounts to be monetised and has over 9 million views. So far monetisation has generated less than £10. I can't even remember the amount to the nearest £, but there's only ever been one payment which wouldn't have even financed a gallon of diesel!

Most of your views were on the rabbit baby vid though which wasn't eligible due to backing track (?) I can't remember now. Still, it may finance a couple of prizes if I crack on with a few more vids. 1000 subs is not bad going I think someone said you could get £50 + a year with that kind of base but they are all very cagey about what they get as they aren't supposed to say.
This is the 1000th post BTW - Yay!!!

I can't believe people are still watching that clip. It wasn't even a proper video!! Most of my videos are now monetised except the dubious BTs but the 67p revenue, or whatever it was, isn't going to fund many prizes and, right now, charity has to begin at home!!

9 million viewed it K! Be proud. The most I can muster is 40k on one vid. That's not bad for YT and I do have 1020 subscribers but it's still not a patch on 9 million views!!

Tools sub board added to Self build! Thanks Ellisboy!
Yes I can make the font bigger. I have made it 12 using CSS rather than the default which is 10. However, I have just done this on the home page and top forums at the moment. I have to add the code manually to about 30 boards which is time consuming so need to know if it is worthwhile
