NB These comments were copied from the other thread when the format was being discussed so some Q's asked have already been answered so it all may not make perfect sense, but just for the sake of getting the other thread clean, everything is moved here. Firefox. Discussion only in this thread. Entry photos go in freemotorhominguk.boards.net/index.cgi?action=display&board=pictures&thread=148 Edit : I don't remember writing all that I'm becoming more like my mother every day The subject will be "Winter Wonderland" Photo should be 1280x960 resolution suitable for web display. If you give us permission it may be nice to use 600x180 extracts or reductions from some of the winning photos for display at top of the forum on a rotating or random script basis with our current Motorhome Sunset at Conniston pic. I may enter myself if I get a good pic Closing date 28 Feb 2013 There will be prizes payable by Pay Pal on the following scale: 4 or less people enter: No prize 5-9 people enter: One £5 prize 10 or more people enter: £10 first prize & £5 second prize There may be more prizes if people want to donate them. You can enter up to 3 photographs but can only win one prize. If you don't have Pay Pal I will give you the prize at a meet. I don't do cheques so it's Pay Pal or by hand. Only post discussion in the thread below. Photo entries go in the other thread. How many entries per person?

How many entries per person? How many would you like? Could have a few but it may make voting a bit tricky unless you call your pics A, B , and C. Then what if WVWA gets 3 votes, WVWB gets 4, and WVWC gets 3 you got 10 overall but FFA could win with 5 for one pic. You'd be splitting your eggs between your baskets Or we could say up to 3 entries and it's the total vote for the "portfolio" of the person that counts? I'm open to suggestions as to what is best/fairest. Great Churchyard pic by the way Jonas

How many entries per person? I would think three we are a tad thin on the ground at the mo. Also I suggest a short title, like two words max, so the pics can go to a poll AND no chit chat on the comp thread as it leads to confusion.

Our local show treats each entry as an individual entry, regardless of how many entries there are, but the judges don't know who the entries are as its all done anonymously. Personally I don't think there should be a total up of points per person, simply a 1st, 2nd. 3rd for the photos. And if the same person ends up winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd, so be it, it just means that they must be a damn good photographer and can be awarded the special prize of becoming the forum photographer Edit :also doesn't it depend on how many votes people can have? Ie, can people only vote for 1 or 2 or 3 photos, or could they vote for every single entry if they wanted? So sorry to be pedantic Another edit : Ooops, mods being told off by members now... no more chit chat after this post, I promise

Could do that, but of course the judges are the forum members so they would know who the entries are by. Whether that makes any difference I don't know.

Can i just ask if someone was offended by my joke entry as it seems to have been removed? Yes. A complaint was made and I removed the pic. I have to apologise because I deleted the pic having not seen there was also this 'discussion' thread linked to the competition thread and, in retrospect, I should perhaps have moved it here instead. Please could the competition thread be for posting genuine photo entries only and any other non-entries be posted in the discussion thread instead. Thanks.

Use the "reply to thread" button at the bottom of the post (not the quick reply box)
Then you should get a fully featured reply box with smilies etc.
At the top of that box, 2nd line down is a line for attachments with browse button next to it. Use the browse button to locate a picture on your hard drive and attach it to the post. NB Max size is 1024 kB or 1 MB. If it's bigger than that you will need to resize it smaller before you attach it.
