www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeYLUN_wSMY Intro www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kep4XrCfcp8 The Battle Japanese Anime about hoards of schoolgirls in mini skirts who compete in a martial art using WW2 tanks, pink ones too! Nobody ever gets hurt though. The shots are real enough, but when a tank is hit a white flag conveniently pops out of the turret. They have British tank girls too who wear red jackets, have stiff upper lips, are terribly sporting, and drink cups of tea all the time. What will they think of next

I squirm a bit, thinking about who this is aimed at...and why. But then, is it really any different from St Trinians?

I guess it falls under Manga as it was comic based too. All age groups in Japan read it but this would be primarily aimed at teenagers of both sexes. I was surprised to see a WWII theme, as I understand the culture in Japan is to forget about that. I guess it is far enough removed from the conflict in the Pacific.
I know it is an animated comic strip but actual tank conflict was a horrific affair. If you got hit, there was a good chance you would be burned alive, so the little white flags popping out of the turrets, to me, were rather a sad reminder of what would probably happen.
