Managed to get a week off work. Filled the van with fuel and food and headed over the Border. First stop was a viewpoint on the A890, just up the hill after you turn off from the A87, Loch Alsh and Skye. Attachment DeletedJust myself and a HiTop there for the night Attachment DeletedA nice run up to Applecross the next morning. Second gear climb up the Pass! Stayed all day up at the viewpoint. Found an old track so the walking wasn't too hard over the moors. And reached the "attachment limit for this post"

I drove over the Applecross pass in May, with a few others from the forum. There was no way I was going to stop!

Ok. So onwards, further North. Another viewpoint, this one on the A832, looking down on Loch Maree. Attachment DeletedAttachment DeletedPretty busy during the day with coach loads of tourist, but I had it to myself all night. Up to Ullapool the next day. Supplies and expensive diesel! I've stayed up at Kylesku in the past, so was on my list. Breakfast in Scourie, and time to think about heading South

Didn't get all that far South though! Yet another viewpoint. This one near Corrieshalloch Gorge at the junction of the A832 and the main A835. Well worth a visit Found a path up to the start of the gorge. They've tried to disguise the track, and there are warning signs but it's not a hard trek and worth the effort. Decided to stay the night, even though it left me a long drive in the morning. Attachment DeletedA four hour drive down to Livingston. Stayed with wor lass. Shower and a proper bed! Planning another long trip in December

Didn't stay for the trip though. On the subject of boat trips. The Farne Islands, trips from Seahouses. Well worth a visit. Make sure you go when the puffins are breeding though.
