A propos of nothing in particular, within the last 6 to 8 weeks, Phil has deleted my membership. I haven't posted there for a couple of years, so that may be why, but it does mean that I won't be able to follow any links to there.
Do I remember someone saying that he had had a few problems, recently? If so, maybe my membership got caught up in that. It seems a little paranoid, to me...it prevents prospective new members from seeing what they might want to sign up to. /shrug (I need a shrug icon! I shrug a lot!)

I think he does cull inactive members. I've never thought that to be a good move on any forum. Maybe it's just my hoarding instinct and refusal to throw anything out coming to the fore! But someone could have a long term illness and having recovered it would be a nasty shock for them to find they had been discarded just because they hadn't posted.
This disruption problem happened on another big forum I was a member of, the MagicCafe. There was a lot of trolling and eventually they locked it down so you had to use a work email or isp email to sign up. You can't use web mail like Google Mail and Yahoo. This was a fairly effective way of booting the trolls because they will only have one or two non web mails and once these get banned they can't use another throwaway web mail to sign back up..
