I know what you are thinking... St Albans doesn't have a beach! But this is part of the Olympic legacy. Some of the sand which was used for the Olympic courts in Horse Guard parade has made its way to St Albans. So we're playing on the same stuff as the champions. Unfortunately we didn't play quite like champions but we had some good rallies. They've got 3 courts and it's in Verulanium Park on the West side of town if you are ever St Albans way.

Yes, social volleyball usually about 50/50 - sometimes loads more girls than boys.
We weren't playing pairs like the real beach, we played 3 v 3 and 4 v 4 mostly.
