Just back from going to my mates wedding in Cambourne (Cornwall) and around the Devon coast (English Riviera) in the Van. Talk about wild. Wind and rain a little sunshine but mostly real Ale and Singing, so pretty good all in all and 1200 miles. Loads of tuggers and Motorhomes on the roads. Saw one of those teardrop thingies.

Glad you had a good trip Bopper.
I am going to the fix-it meet down at Wildman's place the end of August so hope the weather will be OK. There will certainly be lots of traffic!

It can be nice even in the bad weather. Some of the coastline in the wind and rain is spectacular. Have a good trip, but like you say the traffic can be horrendous at the end of August.

Yes, I guess similar to the West coast of Scotland. The weather wasn't too good up there, but we still enjoyed it

Yeah it was top Vern and glad you had a good time in spite of weather Bopper. No gurantees in this country! Lovely sunshine certainly does make everything shine, but you have to make the best of it whatever it is. Guess we wouldnt be wildcampers in the UK though if we didn't already know that

I must recommend the "Endevour" pub in Teignmouth. We saw a sign outside on Sunday morning which read "The best breakfast around and no mistake" (or similar words) Marie had the small and I ordered the medium breakfast. When they arrived I just could not believe it! Marie's was more than adequate but mine was huge!!! It beggers belief to know what the large one is. I am 19 stone and built big, I thought the breakfasts would be the norm' like most places and nearly ordered the large, good job I didn't mine was 2 slices bacon, two eggs, two sausages, two hash browns, two large mushrooms, beans, toms, bubble & Squeak, two slices black pudding and two slices of toast washed down with a cup of tea for £3.99p Marie's was £2.99. I highly recommend this place for breakfast and they have a Karaoke on on Saturday nights and I love singing.

Vernon, the amount Rubbertramp eats do you really think it's a dare?

I didn't look at the opening times but we were in there at 10am and that was a Sunday. I can also recommend the "Old Jolly Sailor" for an evening meal. Cajun Chicken was £8.50 and was very tasty and plentiful. Both pubs sell real ale as well. Parked on council car park right on the front (Google maps 50.541561,-3.49889) it does say the usual "No overnight camping etc etc." but there were several there as well as me and all were left alone. The risk is up to you though. Have a good time there Rubbertramp and see if you can manage the BIG one!!!!!!
