after a coupla years of being let down, crappy agency jobs, falling out with jobsworths down the jobcenter, finally got a job. only 25 hours a week to start with, but it's more money than he was getting off the state ( zero!!) he is now an employee of machine mart, started today, issued with workwear and boots, and gets pension, healthcare, and discount. (that's gonna come in useful ). 3 days a week, tuesdays, thursdays and saturday's, 28 days holiday pa. he's over the moon, i'm well chuffed. chance to get some money in his back pocket, do some of the stuff he's been missing out on. ooh, and he passed his theory last week, driving test as soon as we can book it, then a small van is in order.

Thats brilliant BRewkit, he is such a nice lad, really pleased he has got a chance, it might well lead to more hours too, and its all experience and stuff for the cv. Its so hard for kids who want to work. My daughter's partner is waiting to hear if he has got a job working in the foundry where i work in the offices, had interview last week, he's a really hard worker dead keen, but not been able to find anything permanent since moving North, last job was delivering parcels for Yodel for 80p a parcel in own car using own petrol - 6 days a week long hours and came out with virtually nothing!

Good news Brewkit. My daughter is "grown up" now and a nurse but I remember when she was younger and just hanging about, not knowing what she wanted to do. It was so difficult not being able to do anything for her. So good luck to him and tell him us lot on the forum are pleased for him. We'll be sending our orders when he's settled in!

he gets 10% discount , that'l do nicely it's all rather pleasant not having him moping round the house, sat on the laptop or x box, or up all night watching family guy/big bang theory/films he's downloaded. and yorkshire tea bags are now back on the menu, , and the kettle gets a chance to cool down.
