Firstly, moderators, I am not sure if this is in the right place or even if it is an acceptable post on the forum at all - please move or delete as you deem appropriate.
In the early hours of Thursday morning my mum passed away. I have to go up to Jura, in the Hebrides where she lived, to attend the funeral and sort out her affairs, and will probably not have signal while I am up there. My mother had a small black neutered female cat which she loved dearly, and her carer had promised her that if anything happened to her then she would take the cat in, but it seems she is not going to honour that promise, they are looking for another home for her on Jura but not holding up much hope. To be honest I doubt anybody there will help, the only likely interest would be from a farmer who would just turf her out in a drafty barn and leave her to fend for herself. The cat is a mostly indoors cat and would not last long as a rat catcher, so I am her only hope for a good outcome. This is not a plea for a forever home - I have found her a forever home near Wigan, but the snag is that they can't take her until July, so what I really need is someone to foster her for a couple of months somewhere in the Greater Manchester area. I will bring her down from Jura, but I have a dog and so the introduction of a cat to the bus poses some problems. If anybody can help please pm me. I expect to be able to get online until Wednesday, after that I will probably be in the land of no signal.

That's so sad HH... I'm very sorry for your loss. Have a safe journey to Jura and all the best with finding a home for your Mum's cat... hope someone can help.

Thanks, I'm still exploring various possibilities. Will keep you updated as and when I can, but I will be without internet for a few days while I am on Jura.

I have now found a new home for the cat on Jura where she can move in straight away and avoid a long stressful journey
