What a dipstick dismantling his old van it looked pretty mint inside. He could have put a newer engine in it maybe. But I guess it wouldn't do 55 mpg. Couldn't believe he got another one without headroom either!

I got the impression he was tacking the insulation of that Nissan slightly the wrong way fiddling about with all the bits of bubble wrap and sound board in all those gaps. I know he wanted something which didn't hold water which was why he avoided rock wool, but he could have used expanding cavity foam or he could have used rockwool waterproofed in bin liners and stuffed it in all those gaps.
Otherwise I think I'm pretty much in sympathy with him, and his construction methods New van is very much a backwards step though. I have got the theory he won't keep it too long, he's gonna find it too small after the other one.

Yes they are a bit small, especially with the bulkhead left in,it has a large curve on it and the two sliding doors are no ideal for the layout he's gone for .

His ply lining kit was a bit crap as well. Lots of little tiny bits which leave large areas of painted metal exposed. He'd have been better off cutting larger pieces of ply himself for a more uniform finish and avoided the rings of painted body work which will only be cold and look naff too.

I think he should be on the TV ;D he is quite a laugh a bit of a bungler but i think he plays up a bit to make an entertaining vid. did you see the one where he tries to light a fire from scratch and his kindling is like huge great thick bits of wood - no wonder he failed miserably!

He has not made a bad job of it after all! I'm glad he lost the bulkhead, that was crazy it took up 25% of his sleeping space in an already tight van. He keeps on talking about making a cup of tea but I didn't see where his stove was. He only had a sink that I could see.

The stoves not in there Vern, think its going to be a portable one and he's saving it for the next video ;D

It looks fair to me, although a bit rough and headroom isn't necessarily an issue - it wasn't and still isn't for me. It's not the layout I'd choose myself but looks very similar to the Romahome R10 Solo.
Re 55mpg, he could have achieved this with a slightly larger vehicle such as a Kangoo. Mine (2002 1.2 petrol) returned 52mpg and a diesel would probably achieve more.

I need an account to view that and my old one doesn't seem to work. I never know why they have to look these things away, it just discourages people I guess I'll have to make a new one.

It's smart. Looks a great vehicle for a conversion. Traffic + headroom. Nice colour too. I'm a tiny bit envious Hope he gets it on YT. He needs to get his ass over here too

I quite like the look of them as well and a very good and cheaper alternative to a T5.
